When I was a kid, I used to love sitting around listening to my mom's old 45s. One song I played over and over was Leader of the Pack by the Shangri-Las. Yeah, I still like it.
Twisted Sister's remake, on the other hand ... not so much.

I'm gonna let the disco vibe ride here. I love K.C. And The Sunshine Band. They have some of the best tunes to party to. Who can resist getting their groove on when a K.C. track is playing in the background? A dead person, that's who!

Don't worry Buddha...you are not alone. I too get disco fever from time to time.

I still love me some Pointer Sisters too. First record I ever owned. I remember I was the coolest 4 year old in the world when I pumped this on my Fischer Price record player.

I love the song "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" by 80's synth-pop band Information Society. I really thought they were going to hit it big. Boy was I wrong.

I guess this one gets blamed on my mom too, but growing up she loved John Denver and I fought liking him for the longest time. I finally gave in about a decade ago and fully embraced him in all his sappy glory. Some of it probably also comes from being a Baltimore Orioles fan and them playing "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" over the PA system during the 7th inning stretch since the 70's. They still do it today and I DO "Thank God I'm A Country Boy"! YEEEEE HAWWWW!!!

I don't know if it's a guilty pleasure or not...but I still like Hole a lot. Love is trashy and has a bad rep (for a lot of things), but I still love her music. Spent many an angsty teenage years listening to them lol.

Ok...so I have another one that I'll most likely take some shit for. I was (and still am to a certain degree) a pretty big Phish fan. I can't really listen to any of their live stuff anymore (cause I'm not wasted and tripped out like I was in my teens and early 20's), but I still enjoy a good bit of their studio stuff, which like the Grateful Dead, isn't that bad (if you like some fun jam music). Mike Gordon is a pretty damn good bassist too.
Yes...I used to be a Phish following hippie, though I don't remember much of it.
I KNOW I was at this show though...one of my firsts and still my favorite Phish song...and was definitely an anthem for my life towards the end of high school.
"But who can unlearn all the facts that I've learned As I sat in their chairs and my synapses burned And the torture of chalk dust collects on my tongue Thoughts follow my vision and dance in the sun All my vasoconstrictors they come slowly undone Can't this wait till I'm old? Can't I live while I'm young?"
