Looks like there were a few deals made between Edmonton and Florida, but nothing of any real significance yet.

Shero's been nothing short of amazing, am I right?

I wasn't completely surprised by the Asham move, though I would have loved for him to stay. His little stunt in the playoffs last year most likely forced Shero's hand.

Still nothing from Parise or Suter. No more other moves for the Pens as of yet. Apparently, Crosby personally reached out to Parise to make a sales pitch...so that's gotta help.

Keep an eye out for Parise's decision tomorrow...

Parise decision imminent

The Penguins believe they are on a short list of teams to land free-agent winger Zach Parise, who could decide Monday where he will play next season.

The Penguins went after Parise in a big way Sunday on Day 1 of the NHL free-agent period, league and team sources told the Tribune-Review. Their offer was the largest for a unrestricted free agent in franchise history, more in term and average annual salary than the seven-year, $50 million presentation to wing Marian Hossa four years ago to the day. Hossa ultimately signed with the Detroit Red Wings.

Parise, 27, reportedly was provided offers by at least seven clubs, including the New Jersey Devils, for whom he served as captain of a Stanley Cup finalist this past season.

The Penguins believed Parise would command at least $10 million annually from other clubs, specifically Minnesota. Other teams reportedly to make offers to Parise included Detroit, Winnipeg, Philadelphia, Carolina and New Jersey.

Crosby and defenseman Paul Martin each spoke with Parise, and Crosby is close friends with him. Parise, like Martin a Minnesota native, previously played with Martin in New Jersey.

“Unless something happens dramatically, the decision is in my hands,” Parise told TSN. “(I’m) confident after thinking tonight I will have a decision.”

Zach Parise is not ready to make a decision on his future and he is not putting a deadline on when he will decide on the plethora of contract offers he has been presented.

Parise told reporters Monday outside of his agent's offices in Mississauga, Ont., that he is going to take time to discuss his options with his family before making a decision. He said the New Jersey Devils are still in the mix for his services, but he refused to divulge the other teams on his list.

It is believed that Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Detroit, Philadelphia and Chicago are on that list, but nothing has been confirmed by Parise or his agent, Wade Arnott.

I'm officially tired of Parise watch. I'd love to have him here, but he's fielding offers in the 10 mill ballpark, and he's just not worth that much. You're not Gretzky dude.

I bet you he stays in Jersey though.

Wild land top forward, defenseman in Parise, Suter

The Minnesota Wild landed the top forward and defenseman on the free agent market Wednesday.

Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported defenseman Ryan Suter agreed to terms with the Wild, and minutes later Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com and TSN reported that so too had forward Zach Parise, marking a monumental day in the history of the young franchise.

LeBrun reported both deals are for 13 years and $98 million, which locks them up through the 2024-25 season and would carry a salary cap hit of $7.538 million per campaign.

There were reports this week that Parise and Suter had talked to each other about possibly playing together somewhere, and the Wild became the beneficiaries as one of the few franchises that could afford both of them.

Parise was the Devils' captain last season and has played in New Jersey for his entire seven-year career after the Devils selected him in the first round of the 2003 NHL Draft. He has 194 goals and 216 assists for 410 points in 502 games. He had 31 goals and 38 assists for 69 points in 82 games this past season and helped the Devils reach the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2003.

However, Parise couldn't resist the temptation to go home to play for the Wild. Not only is he from Minneapolis, his parents, including former NHL player J.P. Parise, still live there and Parise has a home in the Twin Cities area.

Steve Sullivan has been signed to Phoenix...possible play for Doan? I guess I wouldn't mind that too much, if the price was right, but we need D in a bad way right now. Going to miss Sully though, wish he could have held on just a few more hours before signing elsewhere. He was a damn hard worker and a good teammate.
