Does "total passing yards" mean just for the Steelers? If so, the winning number is 305.
If "total passing yards" means ALL passing yards, including Flacco, then the winning number is 493.

If the winning number is 493, then Truck is the winner.
If the winning number is 305, then Truck's score of 306 is over, and Fer is the winner.

I smell a lawsuit.

We had this discussion earlier in the season. These contests are always closest without going over wins. In the event that EVERYONE goes over, then lowest score (closest to the number) wins.

What happens if the winning number is 305. And two posters have numbers of 306 and 304. Who wins?

This isn't a "without going over" contest. It's a "closest number wins" contest, as stated in the first post. Total passing yards usually means OUR total passing yards in these types on contests, but obviously we can't be sure unless Mach confirms it was game total, I suppose.

No, we had this conversation about a month or so ago. These contests are always closest without going over. And there's a reason for that ...

At the end of the day, it's meaningless. But if there comes a time when we start giving out actual prizes, we can't have confusion about who the winner is. We need to establish standard rules.

I STILL don't understand why every contest has to be a without going over contest. Mach's rules stated that the guess closest to the final total wins, and Truck was one yard off.

Ummm, I don't recall that conversation. I think this conversation was held in secret and there was no vote for this final proposal. This is like Obama's healthcare, it was voted on before we knew what was in it

As for your question, if there are two quesses - one above, one below, you take the one that is under. But since that is not the case, I would go with who was closer, per Mach's rules (probably only because it makes me the winner).
