| New England Patriots**** defensive end Chandler Jones, who led the team with 12.5 sacks during the regular season, was hospitalized Sunday for an undisclosed issue after he reportedly visited the Foxborough Police Department, where dispatch records show he was evaluated by five officers.
The Boston Herald reported that Jones showed up at the police department with a "medical emergency" at 7:42 a.m. Sunday, before being transported to Norwood Hospital shortly after 8 a.m. The Herald obtained dispatch records that indicate an officer was sent to Jones' nearby home to "secure the residence."In a statement, the Patriots**** said, "Chandler Jones was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released that day. He reported to work on time Monday morning and has participated in all meetings and practices since then."When initially contacted by the Herald, Foxborough Police Chief Edward T. O'Leary denied that his department and officers had any dealing with Jones, according to the newspaper. Dispatch records obtained by the Herald indicated otherwise.
According to the newspaper, the records also show that a Foxborough officer modified the dispatch record of the emergency call at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, shortly after the Herald called O'Leary and received a copy of the dispatch call records.
O'Leary later explained to the Herald that medical information was deleted from the record, and he initially said his department and officers had no dealing with Jones because "it was a medical call" and he "didn't look at it as a police-specific call."http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/14558353/new-england-Patriots****-chandler-jones-had-medical-emergency-sunday Nothing to see here - move along - Go Pats****! The reason for a weekend trip to the hospital by Patriots** defensive lineman Chandler Jones initially wasn’t know. According to Chris Curtis, producer of WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan Show, it now is.Curtis reports, citing unnamed police sources, that Jones overdosed on pills on Saturday night. The report from WEEI initially claimed that the overdose happened at teammate Rob Gronkowski’s house. That tweet has been deleted, replaced by a new one that reiterates the overdose report, but that does not say where it occurred. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/12/report-chandler-jones-overdosed-on-pills/ | |
