Yup, would have liked to have him back, but I think Vince Williams brings more to the #3 ILB spot and it just means they draft a FA, or Garvin might be back. They didn't tender Garvin an offer either from what I remember.

Garvin is visiting the Redskins, good chance we lose both him and Spence.

I wish him well. He's been playing better and better since coming back from the injury. He provides good depth, but in reality they don't need Spence and Williams and Garvin.

One or more of those players going seems inevitable.

I see room for L.J. Fort as the #4 ILB if this transpires.  Think they like his special teams.

good luck to the kid, proud of how he turned it around. I wish him well in his career, except when his team plays us Sean Spence 1797695198

I don't blame him for leaving for an opportunity to start though, I think he's able. But while Shazier and Timmons is here, there's no opportunity for him.

With depth being a concern though, looks like we should try to lock up Vince Williams, I think he's also a FA right?

Here's a couple more names to add to both categories of 'sucking'- and 'getting better' post Steeler career; the great Neil O'Donnell and Mike Meriweather, respectively.

Limas Sweed also looked better playing in the CFL. So can't count him out.

Its good to know Sweed found his true calling

you know, outside of Meriweather and Woodson (Sanders is TBD since he had only one good year with Manning so far) I can't think of any regularly playing Steeler that went on to have a better career elsewhere,

Willie Colon?

With the two you previously mentioned (Kuhn and Jones) they hardly saw any regular season playing time as Steelers, right? I mean then you can add Johnny U to the list also, true?

Did Spence actually sign with the Dolphins, or did he just visit?

Sean Spence lands with Titans

Posted by Mike Florio on March 16, 2016

Former Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has lured a former pupil to Nashville.

The Titans have announced that linebacker Sean Spence has agreed to terms. Per a league source, it’s a one-year, $2.5 million deal.

During the preseason of his rookie year, Spence suffered a gruesome knee injury. He missed two full seasons due to the injury.

The third-round pick in 2012 drew interest from several teams, including the Dolphins and Jaguars.

Spence appeared in 15 games with four starts in 2015. In 2014, he appeared in 16 games, starting nine times.

Via the team’s official website, Spence will compete at inside linebacker and play a key role on special teams.

Titans sign ILB Sean Spence (1 year, $2.5 million): C+ Grade

Sean Spence has yet to live up to his third-round billing. He was chosen in that frame back in 2012, but couldn't even take the field until 2014 because of injuries. He was just mediocre by then, and continued to play that way this past season. Spence wasn't bad in coverage, but was abused against the run - which was expected of him when coming out of college.

Spence is a bit overpaid here, as he could've been obtained for less. As a positive though, Spence will be reunited with his former defensive coordinator, Dick LeBeau, so there won't be any sort of transition period.

Pair Of Linebackers Visiting Steelers Today

by Alex Kozora

The Pittsburgh Steelers have lined up two visits to two linebackers today. Spencer Paysinger and Mike Morgan are set to meet with the team, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Paysinger, undrafted in 2011, spent the first four years with the New York Giants before signing with the Miami Dolphins last year. He played 325 snaps on special teams, according to Football Outsiders and made ten total tackles.

Morgan, also undrafted in 2011, has spent his entire career with the Seattle Seahawks. He was also a core special teamer, playing 284 snaps, or just over 63% of the total. He recorded 11 total tackles.

Both figure to be inside linebacker help that it certainly needed after losing Sean Spence to the Tennessee Titans and Terence Garvin to the Washington Redskins.

We’ll provide further updates throughout the day. It wouldn’t be surprising to see one of these players sign. The players the Steelers tend to sign are ones that ink a contract on the day they are brought in. It’ll be a nice gift to the city of Pittsburgh, who is celebrating its 200th birthday.

I thought Spence played pretty well for us, that guy is talking like he was horrible.
