| Watched Gone Girl.
It was great for 9/10 of the movie... and then... eh.
Non-Hollywood endings are great, but this ending (SPOILER) seemed to be more of a slam of "marriage" (love =/= marriage). Finding ways to hurt each other over & over & over is what marriage is; it has nothing to do with love. Eh.

I kind of liked the ending, but that's because I love it when things don't work out, or are even more fucked than when the movie started. | I saw John Woo's The Killer last night. If you're into shoot 'em ups with a single (or sometimes two) protagonist mowing down hordes of bad guys and some impressive cinematography, I can't recommend it enough. The story is pretty standard for a hitman's "last job" movie with a few decent turns to keep it interesting. As I mentioned, the real star of the show is the shootouts, of which there are plenty.
Now I need to watch Hard Boiled _________________ Wallace108: Jon, how the hell do you expect any of us to ever follow your posts? You always set the bar awfully high. "Ray Rice is special. He is a guy for all situations, as I have said before, even in an elevator." -Mike Tomlin

You know, normally I like anti-endings. And, going in, I knew that David Fincher likes anti-endings. But... I don't know... this one seemed unrealistic. (SPOILER) Was Ben Affleck going to sleep with his door locked for the rest of his life? Beyond his own safety, he would always live in fear that Amy would possibly kill their child. That much pressure & stress... seems unrealistic. I thought, at the end, Ben Affleck was going to kill her... bringing us full circle. That would have been a more realistic anti-ending.

| I'm watching the Stupids, a very silly movie from 1996 staring Tom Arnold. Him and his family uncover a plot to sell weapons to terrorists because they are searching for whomever is "stealing" their garbage every week.
Great cameo by the great Christopher Lee as the evil Mr. Sender. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| just saw Adam's Rib with Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. It's from 1949 and I've got to say I was disappointed with this one. Tracy and Hepburn are great together, maybe if you can get through it without taking it seriously at all you could enjoy it. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton is a 1966 American dark comedy-drama film directed by Mike Nichols.
Set on the campus of a small New England college, the film focuses on the volatile relationship of associate history professor George and his hard-drinking wife Martha, the daughter of the college president. George and Martha engage in dangerous emotional games with one another.a really good movie

| that is a good one, I think that's the first thing I saw Richard Burton in. Don't care to much for Elizabeth Taylor though but it's a great movie and it's probably my favorite work of hers. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| saw Hard Times the other week with Charles Bronson and James Coburn. Set in the depression era New Orleans, Bronson is a bare knuckle boxer and he meets Coburn who becomes his manager. Pretty good movie with really good fight scenes.

| Watched the new 'Annie' with my daughter. A few twists in the movie but just your typical musical. It was a good movie for daddy-daughter time.
23 Blast, the movie based a real life story where the kid lost his sight and still played football. If you watch the movie, make sure you watch the behind the scenes stuff. The movie does not hold true to what really happened and the time frame in which it happened, but still a good inspiring movie. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

| just saw a great movie called Jubal. It has both Glenn Ford AND Charles Bronson. Really good one, very well directed by Delmer Daves (also directed the original 3:10 to Yuma). The only thing that seemed off was Rod Steiger in a western. He was good, it just seemed like he was out of place. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| just re-watched a few good ones I hadn't seen in a while:
They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969) with Jane Fonda. It's about a dance marathon in the depression. This would rank up there as one of the most depressing movies. It's a great one to watch though. Red Buttons is has a great role in it.
Six String Samurai (1998) is a weird post apocalyptic type movie in which Elvis has just died and the hero is on his way to Vegas to become the new "king". Great music and action scenes. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| There's a video rental place that's shockingly still in business near me. I just rented the following films, but haven't yet watched them:
Interstellar Inherent Vice Whiplash _________________ Wallace108: Jon, how the hell do you expect any of us to ever follow your posts? You always set the bar awfully high. "Ray Rice is special. He is a guy for all situations, as I have said before, even in an elevator." -Mike Tomlin

| I've heard some mixed opinions of Minions. Those are the perfect kinds of movies for a child, adult, or childish adult like myself.
Interstellar was really pretty good. I was very happy to have seen it.
I just saw two great ones:
The Violent Men (1956) with Glenn Ford and Edward G. Robinson. About a ranch war, a cheating wife and an ex-confederate captain.
The Bravados (1958) with Gregory Peck. About a guy who's been hunting the 4 men who killed his wife. He catches up to them and they are about to be hung. They escape, so the chase continues. Teaches a good lesson about revenge. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| I thought Minions was good, but it certainly left something on the table. I think it could have been better, but alas, they were trying to tell a story.
Still not bad, they've got funny, then they've got very funny. Just not one right after another. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

| watched Rider on the Rain (1970). foreign made and the dvd quality was bad. like watching one of those 60's italian horrors where the sound goes in and out and there's no color on the screen. But it's got Bronson and Marlene Jobert in the leading roles. Jobert does an excellent job. Bronson is great as usual as an inspector who is following a killer who he thinks attacked and then got killed by Jobert. Supposedly this film inspired the song Riders on the Storm.
also saw Cowboy (1958) with Glenn Ford and Jack Lemmon. Based on a true story about a guy (a tenderfoot) who bought his way into a cattle drive so that he can impress and visit the woman he loves. Said tenderfoot learns lessons along the way. More realistic instead of the fantasy based hero stories a lot of westerns and action movies have. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| just finished The Desperate Hours (1955) with Humphrey Bogart. Great movie, really tense. Bogart and two other escaped cons take over a house and keep the family hostage while waiting for a getaway plan to fall through. Similar to the Petrified Forest with Bogart playing a bad guy again. Funny how the idea of a criminal changed from Bogart playing a glorified and dangerous gangster on the run in the 30's to a lowtime life criminal in the 50's. _________________ Have you ever wondered what you would look like frozen in carbonite?

| Went to see Inside Out.
It was way over the four-year old's head. But, as a parent, it was great.

Sometimes, it's ok (even necessary) to be sad. Exactly. I don't think it was made "for" kids. Yes, it was animated, but its target audience was adults. Indeed. ( spoiler) If Joy had just let Sadness touch the core memories, everything could have been avoided. The audience (like Joy) was like: "Ugh, Sadness... you're so annoying; stop touching the memories." But, Sadness needed to touch the memories, so that Riley could inform her parents that she was sad about leaving Minnesota; which, in turn, would have brought on her parents' empathetic response. Nope... Joy (like the audience) shunned Sadness... and, the adventure began. .
