Bernard Pollard did it again. Well, almost did it again.

All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski limped to the Patriots' locker room with a left ankle injury after Pollard, the Baltimore Ravens safety, tackled him following a third-quarter reception during the Patriots' 23-20 victory in the AFC Championship Game. But Gronkowski quickly returned to the game and was on the field for Tom Brady's game-winning touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

After the game, WCVB-TV spotted Gronkowski on the confetti-coated field at Gillette Stadium wearing a walking boot to protect his injured ankle.

Did anybody else catch the replay of this injury and think it looked like a replay of Ben's ankle injury against Cleveland? I don't look for Gronkowski to be of much use, if any, in the Super Bowl. He'll struggle to even get on the field much less make any plays I think.

I think every team playing the Patriots should be able to have Pollard as their SS.

Actually, I've changed my mind. I like him just fine on the Ravens. He's way better than Dawan Landry.

Dad: Rob Gronkowski will play
ESPNBoston.com

The father of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said his son has a high ankle sprain, an injury that typically takes some time to heal completely.

With 10 days until the Super Bowl against the New York Giants, the Patriots held Gronkowski out of practice Thursday and Friday. He was also listed, along with 12 other Patriots, as questionable for the Super Bowl.

Gronkowski's father, Gordy Gronkowski, told WIVB-TV in Western New York that his son had the high ankle sprain but also said that his son would be ready to go for the game.

Gronkowski injured the ankle in the third quarter of Sunday's AFC Championship Game win over the Baltimore Ravens. He limped off the field but returned to the game about five minutes later. He said after the game that his ankle was "good."

The tight end has been spotted in a walking boot in recent days.

"I'm not going to try to forecast what it will be 10 days from now," coach Bill Belichick said Thursday. "We'll just take it day by day."

Just as I suspected. Looks like Gronk will not be a factor in the Super Bowl. After seeing Ben struggle with his injury and how it immobilized him, I can't see Rob being able to compete effectively when he will have to run routes and take more hits unlike Ben.
