The Steelers began the process of solving their salary cap problems today by cutting veterans Bryant McFadden and Arnaz Battle.
McFadden, a cornerback taken by the Steelers in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft, was due to make $2.5 million in 2012. Battle, a wide receiver who's spent the first seven seasons on his nine-year pro career with the San Francisco 49ers, was due to make $1.037 million. _________________  If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Nice to see Bryant "Dead Weight" McFadden is gone. He was useless. No loss there.
Strange that Battle is gone considering he was the special teams captain, but it seems like more of a money issue there.

Strange that Battle is gone considering he was the special teams captain, but it seems like more of a money issue there. We have a special teams coach. No reason to pay Battle to stick around and do absolutely nothing at his position just to be a captain. I'm sure it'll free up some cap space.
