Ben Roethlisberger's disposition seemed as sunny as the skies over the Steelers' South Side fields Tuesday morning. It was the opening of organized team activities, and he looked as loose and lively in drills - "I've lost a few pounds," he explained - as he did in animatedly engaging his teammates.
Big Ben, bundle of joy.
Right up until someone brought up the playbook.

| I read some of the comments below. Is this guy from Baltimore? If so why did the Trib hire him? Ben will adapt. Haley will have really great game plans. We will start off winning and everyone will be happy. Like they say: "winning cures everthing!!" | |

| I'm trying to figure out why this article was written?
I don't know any QB, when a new OC is hired, that doesn't have issues with the new playbook? I mean really, this to me is a non-story. Must be a slow day. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available! | |

| I really don't understand the article. I read it all. I guess Ben can't take a shit without someone complaining of the smell Would it be better if he was silent? Probably not. I'm not surprised though, it is the Off-season after-all... _________________ "Either you're playing dumb, or it's not an act". -Judge Judy

Everybody on every Steelers board automatically assumed this was a hit piece on Ben and went into media-bashing mode. I doubt most of them read beyond the first few paragraphs. But Kovacevic actually defended Ben. Fans have such hatred for the media that they're taking the reporters out of context. ----------------------------------------------------------- And with each passing answer, it became that much more transparent that Roethlisberger has a long way to go to accept how the Steelers treated him this offseason.
I don't blame him.
First, team president Art Rooney publicly stated that Roethlisberger needed to "tweak" his game, meaning to scramble a lot less and stay healthy.
Think Robert Kraft suggests positional philosophy to Tom Brady?
Next, Rooney and Tomlin fired Bruce Arians, Roethlisberger's offensive coordinator of five years, and stunned pretty much everyone. Including Roethlisberger.
Think the Packers pull that with Aaron Rodgers?
Finally, Tomlin hired Haley, also without Roethlisberger's input, and is implementing a brand new offense.
Think Peyton Manning didn't pack his own playbook when he flew off to Denver?----------------------------------------------------------------------- The article was a fair analysis of the situation. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart.
