Hatfields & McCoys

So the History channel is doing a 3 part mini-series on the Hatfields & McCoys.

Watched the first episode last night, part two tonight. I've got to say, whether it's historically accurate or not, it's a good show.

I've only watched the first part so far. I was kind of confused because at the end of the first part, it said that it would continue next Monday, so I didn't look for any downloads of the next two parts. Was looking through EZTV (download site) this morning and saw that parts 2 and 3 are up for download. So I guess History Channel was wrong?

I enjoyed the first part though. It was a little slow to get going, but once it did I was pretty into it. I'm not sure how historically accurate it is either, but I'm not sure how historically accurate it ever could be.

I watched all 3 parts "live" if you will. And regardless of historical accuracy, I thought it was a real good piece on two of the most infamous families in US History. I'm sure there was hollywood glamorization of the feud, but I did a search on the feud and I think they got the basis of it.

The feud initially started over the ownership of a pig.

I had to go watch the end of the first part again to make sure Jon and I didn't have a shared delusion....the announcer says at the end 'the feud continues, next Monday at 8'.

That guy needs to be fired.


I looked up some of the history as well, and it is pretty accurate, though I'd say it really started with Harmons murder. The pig just put them over the top.

Weird, because I had it being taped all 3 days. Maybe I just didn't pay attention to the announcer since I had my DVR already set to record.

I think back then the pig might have been just as important if not more.
