An MCL tear doesn't necessarily mean he'll be back at any point this year. An MCL sprain, maybe.

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison was a man of few words when asked to describe the progress he has made rehabilitating his knee following recent surgery.
He appears to be a definite no-go for the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field Thursday. But is he ruling himself out for the season opener in Denver Sept. 9?
“I didn’t say that,” Harrison flatly told the media after Monday’s practice.
