Yes and no. Obviously, the inability to stop Manning was a big reason why we lost. But our offense needs to score more than 19 points. Our offense was outplayed. Our defense was outplayed. And our coaches were outcoached. This was a team loss.

Yep, team loss all day long. I still have hope they will pull it together fast like they did last year. I give it until Warren Sapp says we're done.

We also didn't tackle. Everyone and I mean everyone missed at least one and some missed several. We looked like we were still in preseason mode. I hate to say it but Dwyer was the better RB last night. I hope this is a wake up call for our defense.

The good news is that this is exactly how we looked coming out of the gate last year and we turned it around quickly. Let's hope that they snap out of the preseason funk again and make adjustments this week. We have another tough defense waiting for us in the Jets back in Pittsburgh.

did anyone else find it interesting that we ran the ball on first and second downs pretty much all night, to only get down to the goal line and call three consecutive pass plays...I'm not gonna start harping on the OC coordinator....yet.....but sheesh

I was already screaming at the TV after the first two possessions. The play calling was really bland early, but I guess that's to be expected. The play calling improved, but then the O-line fell apart.

The reason we lost was Defense. Simply put. Our offense maybe would have put up more points if the defense didn't shit in Ben's hand in less than HALF the time it took him to score previously.

Sort of reminds me of a similar pattern the Steelers have suffered over the years:

Defense getting massive pressure and keeping passes to a minimal, offense goes three and out.

Last night:

Defense gives a 20-yard coverage cushion and lacks pressure, offense scores when needed.

Bottom line: We need Clark, and we need Harrison, and MOST OF ALL: We need to get back into regular atmosphere and hope to GOD we never open up the season there again.

This. We got beaten by a better team (as of right now). That's not to say the Steelers won't be the better team come the end of the season, just that they weren't this week.

I'm sick of playing in Denver short-handed. Just once I'd like the Donkeys at full strength in Pittsburgh, then we'll see what the final score looks like.

This. If we were home we woulda won. They couldnt hear anything. Have you ever seen Ben walk around and bark orders out individually all night before? It was an extremely hostile environment. He was so surprised at at that pick six cuz that never happens. When does Ben ever throw a game like that? He's second in comebacks since he entered the league, with 23.

The only good running play we had was called back. Is Mendenhall really that good? Or do we just suck at running? Either wall. Who cares, if we can pass like that. So just let Ben do his thing.

If we dont beat the Jets then Ill be concerned.

I am over this loss now...lets look forward to play the Jets now.

Legursky has been a nightmare when forced into duty his whole career. He grades out as a marginal backup center....which is fine. But as a G, he is a huge problem on the interior of the line. When he is on the field, its like a trip to the dentist
