| Based on reports that Lefty suffered fractured ribs, the Steelers are going to be in the market for another backup QB. Jerrod Johnson is an obvious choice. I've also seen Tyler Palko's name floating around. I don't think that's very likely. - Quote :

False alarm. Steelers spokesman tells me Jerrod Johnson is NOT a Steelers QB. For now at least. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

So @JasonLaCanfora saying byron might be out. what would yall think if we got @donovanjmcnabb? Uh ... no! Stick to rushing the passer, Woodley, not lobbying for one. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

He's tied with Brown for fumbles this year. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

He's tied with Brown for fumbles this year. It was a joke. I'm not nearly as pissed as I was last night. You have to admit though, for WEEKS now I've been telling everyone that Wallace is going to have a BIG game, and for weeks, he's failed to catch even 100 yards in passes. I'm just sort of discouraged. Running out of hope. We really need Ben and Brown back in this lineup. Bad. _________________ "Either you're playing dumb, or it's not an act". -Judge Judy

How many deep passes have been thrown to Wallace this year? Last night, he got one deep ball on the first play of the game. Will Johnson, our freaking full back, got TWO deep passes. There's no excuse for not taking at least 2 or 3 shots deep to Wallace every game. It's hard to get a 100-yard game in this style of offense. How many 100-yard games has Brown had this year? How many has Sanders had in Brown's place? Why is Wallace being held to a higher standard? _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. How many has Sanders had in Brown's place? Why is Wallace being held to a higher standard? Wallace doesn't need a "deep ball" to have a big game. He can use his speed to get open over the middle, and everywhere else on the field. If Wallace is only useful in straight-line streaks I believe he's pretty damn one-dimensional. Hell, he caught one on a slant in New York and took it to the house. That was game-changing play, but i'm excited to see him light it up ALL DAY. Just like Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, all of those guys do. I know he can. He can make catches anywhere on the field, but he just seems to have a lack of effort on some plays, and looks scared to get hit on others. Wallace ran two or three deep routes in yesterdays game, he was double-teamed once, single-covered another and it looked like a safety was over the top on another, and he couldn't get open. Wallace's offensive talent is perfect for a Bruce Arians offensive system, but no so much in a dink-and-dunk offense. He needs to find ways to make plays elsewhere on the field. It'll add up. Antonio Brown does it almost every time he's in the game. _________________ "Either you're playing dumb, or it's not an act". -Judge Judy

Antonio Brown does it almost every time he's in the game. But he IS making plays in this system. He's just not putting up big numbers. And neither is Brown. Before Brown got injured, Wallace had more yards and touchdowns than Brown. And Brown had only 3 more receptions. Wallace has twice as many TDs this season as Brown has in his entire career to this point. How can you say he's not making plays when he's been more productive than Brown this season? _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Brown was ahead of Wallace in total yardage, and receiving yardage, up until his injury. Brown isn't likely to be back anytime soon, so obviously, Wallace will continue gaining on him. _________________ "Either you're playing dumb, or it's not an act". -Judge Judy

Well, of course Brown is ahead in TOTAL yardage ... they don't use Wallace on special teams. And no, Wallace was ahead of him in receiving yards when Brown got hurt. The only statistical category Brown was ahead of Wallace in was receptions (he had 3 more receptions coming into the Giants game). _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. | I thought I read somewhere that Johnson was under contract in the CFL or something. He would be an obvious choice...Palko would work too, but we certainly don't need another slow, old, washed up QB back there that is injury prone. _________________ Win, Lose, or Tie, I'm a Steeler fan until I DIE!!!

Here are 2 QB's the Steelers could be interested in if Leftwich can't play against the Browns What if the Steelers need a backup quarterback for this week's game in Cleveland (Charlie Batch would start and Ben Roethlisberger won't be healthy to play) following Byron Leftwich's apparent rib and shoulder injury following Sunday's 13-10 loss?. I know 2 QBs out there that Mike Tomlin does like -- David Garrard and Tyler Palko. I've heard Mike Tomlin talk glowingly of Palko before (who had a brief stint with the Steelers), and he did start some games for Todd Haley in KC last year. http://sulia.com/channel/pittsburgh-steelers/f/dd8ec902-02fd-45c4-b242-b000969f2d79/ _________________ -"I stand corrected...
