Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch is among five finalists for the Byron "Whizzer" White Award, the highest honor the NFL Players Association can bestow upon a player.
The players union annually presents the award to a player who is as dedicated off the field as he is on. It is named after former the former Supreme Court Justice, who played for the Steelers in 1938. It is the second year in a row Batch has been among the finalists.
"You look at the names attached to the award, the history of it, it's special," Batch said. "To be mentioned as part of those names, that makes it special. It's the highest honor the players association can bestow."
