| PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It’s a Pittsburgh icon, and now the terrible towel will be made right here in the steel city. The Steelers announced today that locally owned Little Earth Productions, Inc. will now handle the manufacturing and distribution of the terrible towel. Why would it cost more to make them in Pittsburgh? That's what I was wondering. Distribution costs would probably be far better in it's new location.

| Wage rates. Why is anything produced in China or any of those other countries that have wages around 10cents/day.
Sad but true. Have them made overseas for next to nothing in a country where the average earnings for a family is $100/year. Load them in a cargo container. Float them to the USA and it's business as usual.
Next time you're buying shoes, clothes, etc take a peak at the label and notice where it was made. Do that for a couple of weeks and you'll be disgusted by what you will notice. | |
