The Cardinals have added some young depth along both lines one week before the regular season begins.
The club announced Sunday it had been awarded ex-Colts offensive tackle Bradley Sowell and ex-Steelers nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu on waivers.
The 23-year-old Ta’amu was a 2012 fourth-round pick of Pittsburgh. The Steelers suspended for two games last October after his arrest on DUI and other charges. The Steelers waived him in November, but re-signed him to their practice squad, then their roster late in the season. He was sentenced to probation as part of his resolution of the DUI incident.
Wow, Arians is going to continue the Steelers West tradition. Go figure. I am glad Taamu did not end up on one of the other AFC North teams and come back to haunt us in the future. I am not sure Fangupo is the answer though. Lets hope McClendon holds up and Al Woods keeps Fangupo on the bench.
