Steelers vs Da Bears (week 3)

Good morning Steelers Nation!

Seems there is some turmoil in our ranks.  Who is to blame?  Coaches?  Players?  FO?  Some, after only 2 years, want to rid ourselves of Haley.  Others want to continue to blame Tomlin for the lack of consistency.  Others can clearly see that our players, especially offensively are not on the same page, and our defense clearly becomes abuses when out on the field too long - although they still hold their own after being on the field for almost 40 minutes.

Ok, let me put my spin on things:
1. Haley - turned the Cardinals offense into an amazing machine, and it wasn't the offense that let the Cardinals down on their run to the SB, but it was the defense.
2. Tomlin - yes he's got some old cliches that are old hat and it drives us nuts to hear them week in and week out, but the Steelers since 1969 have been solid with their head coaches, keeping continuity.
3. Offensive players - they've got to sell out to what Haley is selling them.  This was hindered last year when Ben was crying about Arians being gone.  Now they have to turn around and get in the same book, and then quickly on to the same page.
4. Defensive players - they are playing well, but if the offensive doesn't put together something soon, this unit will burn out quickly.

With all that being said, I believe this week is our turn around point.  The Bears come in to town sporting a 2-0 record.  Already the media is saying we're done, but as fans we've all seen it before, when 'they' say we're out, the team always comes in.

This week, the team pulls it together, and we begin anew!

I sure hope you are right, truck.  I too am high on faith for the Steelers to get the W.

spent the weekend in Daytona Beach working, I know rough life, and got back in time to unpack, watch a chick flick with my wife and then turn on the last 5 minutes of pre-game.

Spent the first half of the early game with my dad (a ratbird fan) and while it was awesome hanging out with my dad..it sucks to see the ratbirds win.

Only one thing can help that suckiness...a STEELERS victory

If they're going to play that delayed blitz, then Ike has to have tighter coverage

got out with only 3 points against....good first drive for the defense considering the bears started off making it look easy.

Time for Ben and company to help the defense out with a time consuming TD ending drive.

Not a good start. Horrible actually.

Can't expect the defense to hold up when they are given a short field.

Terry Bradshaw said something this morning that intrigued me. He basically said that Bruce Arians was a better OC for Ben and Haley is not the right OC for Ben.

But I'm curious, is the OC suppose to be for the QB or for the entire unit. Personally, I believe Haley is the better OC for the team, unfortunately, Ben didn't buy in to the system last year, whined about losing Arians, and we'll never know for sure what could have been if Ben would have bought in to the system 100% last year.

ok so this first quarter has been a freakin' disaster!

This could be a huge stand for our defense!

I'm sorry there Chris, Mendenhall wasn't that explosive after he had knee surgery. But hey, thanks for paying attention during those years he was with us.
