Steelers vs. Eagles game thread (Preseason Week 3)

Defense isn't looking very impressive. Not calling Shazier's name a lot like we were last game.

Ike looked completely taken off guard. Of course offensive P.I. seems to be a good reason for that.

Handoff to Sproles, tackled by Polumalu after a modest gain.

End of the 1st quarter. Steelers 0, Eagles 7

Stuffed on the run. 3rd and 8 coming up. McCoy went to the locker room for an X-ray on his thumb.

3rd down is a completion to the TE (Shazier in coverage, and with the tackle). Another penalty for illegal contact (declined)

Foles has time to set up a campfire and hits Macklin for another first down.

2nd and 2 (correction) - Macklin with the catch, Mitchell with a big hit. 1st and goal Eagles.

1st and goal. Ike slips on the coverage and called for another PI penalty. Cooper dropped the wide open TD.

I'm just going to chalk the first quarter and the start of the 2nd quarter as a team not focused.

Jones offsides on the play. Throw into the flats, and the receiver takes it to the half yard line. Defense is looking SUPER SUPER SUPER sloppy.

1st down (again), and Sproles runs this one in for a TD. SLOPPY defense.

Sproles with a spinning TD. Again our defense looks out of sorts.

Offense is off, defense is off. This is not a pretty one folks.

Could it be all the excitement of The Beard returning as well as the crap with Bell and Blount taking it's toll on the team?

1st and 10, Bell with a run up the gut. Gain of 4.

2nd and 6- spread formation. Underneath route to Dri Archer. Minimal gain. 3rd down.

3rd down- I don't know how Brown caught that in between 2 people, then the 2 defenders knocked each other off the tackle and Brown picked up about 10 more after that. Flags on the play (both on the defense- one offsides and one unsportsmanlike)

Brown with a nice grab and RAC. And two penalties on the defense with one to the end of the play.

1st and 10- PA, BR7 slings a nice pass to Wheaton in coverage but certainly a catchable ball that Wheaton drops. Illegal contact called on the Eagles (he moderately hugged Wheaton coming out of his cut)

Wheaton should have held on to that one.

1st and 10, Ben has to scramble out of the pocket a bit and holy cow was that an errant pass. Interception Eagles. The woes continue. Overthrew Archer by no less than 10 yards on a touch pass.

Damn Ben needs to throw that ball out of bounds not down the field.

yeah, this pre-season game is in the books. I'd rather them start pulling 1st stringers to avoid injuries.

1st and 10, play fake, catch by the TE. Shazier on the coverage.

2nd down and a pass to Macklin that is incomplete. Reason: Macklin's knee buckled hard when trying to make the cut (looked pretty bad). Hope for the best for him since he just came back from an ACL injury last year.
