The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating an alleged domestic assault involving Florida State running back Karlos Williams, the agency said in a news release issued Monday.
Senior Karlos Williams leads second-ranked Florida State with 378 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
Williams, a senior from Davenport, Florida, is being investigated for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, who lives with him and is pregnant with the couple's second child, according to people familiar with the investigation.
"The athletics department is aware of an investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department involving football student-athlete Karlos Williams," the school said in a statement. "Until we receive more information regarding the alleged incident his status with the team will be under review."
"There's another false report, and that's amazing how things happen," Fisher told reporters. "Whoever has sources, whoever has rumors, needs to check who they are talking to -- because that is about as far from truth as there is."
Fisher also said: "It's funny. That guy, who's a tremendous kid, a tremendous ambassador, I don't even know where that [suspension report] would come from. It kind of caught me off guard like 'Whoa.' Karlos has been wonderful."

Wow. No, seriously... WOW. What little respect I did have for Fisher is gone. Of course, it's a false report. Never mind that this players pregnant girlfriend has photos of her injuries. With Jimbo there's no victim because there was no crime. Never mind that this same player is being "investigated" by the TPD for taking part in the armed robbery of a FSU senior and former marine. And before any FSU fan starts making excuses, I don't give a damn that the guy was trying to buy pot, he was robbed at gunpoint by one of your football players. When a detective called Williams to come in for an interview he stalled them and hired a lawyer (Does that sound familiar or what?). There's no victim because there's no crime with this one either, huh Jimbo? Oregon... Florida... other schools, they take immediate action when there's an allegation of a crime. FSU and Jimbo? Well FSU, they hide behind no comments while there's an ongoing investigation. Jimbo Fisher tells the press that his players are outstanding young men and ambassadors and how anyone dare to even say the word suspend. You may be a good coach but you are a sorry excuse of a man and human being.
