| Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger: 'All' of Todd Haley's offense suits meJeremy Fowler, ESPN Senior NFL Writer PITTSBURGH -- When Ben Roethlisberger watches film of last season's games, he can see what about Todd Haley's offense suits him well. “All of it,” Roethlisberger said in an interview last week. “We work well together. Guys believe in it and believe in each other. That’s one of the biggest keys.” Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and offensive coordinator Todd Haley found a groove during the second half of last season. The Pittsburgh Steelers open minicamp Tuesday with the optimism of a 6-2 finish to last year's regular season, a stretch during which Roethlisberger threw for 2,572 of his career-high 4,952 passing yards, completing at least 63 percent of his passes in all but one of those games. Roethlisberger’s quarterback rating jumped from 92 in 2013 to 103.3 last season thanks to 32 touchdowns and nine interceptions. This is a sizable jump for a team that got trounced 31-10 in Cleveland on Oct. 12. Both Roethlisberger and Haley, who is entering his fourth season as Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator, have expressed happiness with the balance struck between implementing Haley’s quick passing game -- with an emphasis on yards after the catch -- and utilizing Roethlisberger’s ability to improvise, or make “Ben-like plays,” as Haley calls them. Roethlisberger was sacked 33 times last season, his lowest total since 2005. to read rest of article: http://espn.go.com/blog/pittsburgh-steelers/post/_/id/14156/steelers-ben-roethlisberger-all-of-todd-haleys-offense-suits-me | |

| After Martavis Bryant was activated, and the offense as we know it finally came together, the Steelers scored fewer than 20 points only once in their last 10 games. | |

| If Haley was our OC during the playoff game vs the Broncos, we never would of lost to Tim Tebow! We had 2, 100yd rushers in a game last year. Lucky to get one from BA. There saying that Haley's offense could possibly be ranked #1 next year....I mean, what more is there to say! | |

| Todd Haley, Norv Turner among top 10 offensive coordinators
By Bucky Brooks NFL Media analyst Published: June 22, 2015
There's nothing like watching an offensive maestro befuddle defenses with exceptional game planning and superb play calls. The best offensive coordinators in the NFL are able to manipulate defenses with various formations, pre-snap shifts and diverse personnel groupings in exotic deployments. These offensive wizards are also savvy enough to maximize the talents of their top playmakers, despite the best efforts of opponents intent on limiting their impact.
After reviewing the All-22 Coaches Film and placing a few phone calls to my coaching buddies around the league, I've come up with a list -- presented in reverse order below -- of the top 10 offensive coordinators in the NFL heading into 2015.
3) Todd Haley, Pittsburgh Steelers The evolution of the Steelers' offense under Haley has coincided with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's ascension to the ranks of the elite. The crusty coach challenged his star signal-caller to become a more efficient player from the pocket while crafting a scheme that showcased an electric receiving corps brimming with young talent. Haley has earned his reputation for developing pass-catchers (Haley has helped Antonio Brown, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Dwayne Bowe and Keyshawn Johnson all earn Pro Bowl honors). The bottom line is, Pittsburgh's offense is more dynamic and explosive than the previous versions trotted out in the Steel City.

| So...let's take the opposite perspective of this offense. You are the D-coordinator for an opposing team. What are you planning on doing to stop this offense?
I'll think about this and edit my post once I get an idea.

That's literally the only thing that's slowed down this offense in the last season and a half. That's pretty much it. The teams, even the bad teams, that the Steelers lost to last season had decent to strong front seven players on defense. The Jets sucked, but their front seven is actually pretty good. Most of the poor teams played a 2 deep defense that didn't allow Ben to go long. Good pressure by the d-line and the linebackers dropping into coverage made for some tough games for the offense.

| Steelers need to run the ball more to protect Ben Roethlisberger
by Dana Draper on July 16, 2015
The Pittsburgh Steelers identity changed in 2014 from a ground and pound to an extensive passing attack, but throwing the ball more often comes with its own disadvantages.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, having quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the crosshairs too much could open the door for an injury.
Running Back LeVeon Bell is an elite running back, while DeAngelo Williams still has plenty in the tank along with an offensive line that has developed into one of the best in the NFL un O-line coach Mike Munchak.
Fowler writes:
'Less hits will equal a longer career for the 33-year-old. And though Todd Haley’s offense protects quarterbacks with a quick passing game, the Steelers’ running game can make that transition easy for Roethlisberger, who doesn’t need to throw the ball 608 times again for Pittsburgh to win. The Steelers ranked seventh league-wide with 27.3 points per game, but 19th in red-zone efficiency at 51.72 percent. The offense passed the ball nearly 70 percent of the time from the 20 or closer. A tad more balance might be in order to bolster those averages.'
