| Lawrence Timmons willing to renegotiate deal to stay with SteelersJeremy Fowler, ESPN Senior NFL Writer PITTSBURGH -- Pro Bowl inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons wants to retire a Steeler, and he's willing to reopen his contract to make that happen. Timmons, 29, is still playing at a high level, recording 132 tackles and two sacks last season in the Steelers' 'Buck' position, where he can rush the passer or play in a traditional linebacker space. Lawrence Timmons recorded 132 tackles and two sacks last season for the Steelers. But his looming salary cap hits are enormous -- $12.6 million in 2015, $11.8 million in 2016 -- because of proration from his six-year, $50-million deal signed in 2011, according to ESPN's roster management system. Timmons is due $7.5 million in base salary this year. Timmons told ESPN "of course" when asked if he'd be willing to work with the Steelers contractually because he loves being in Pittsburgh. Theoretically, that would come in two forms: a restructure or an extension. to read rest of article: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13012184/pro-bowl-lb-lawrence-timmons-willing-renegotiate-deal-stay-pittsburgh-steelers | |

Yeah, well, many people are fans of Justin Bieber too. There's no accounting for intelligence even in large numbers. _________________ -"I stand corrected... But I absolutely and wholeheartedly fart in the general direction of almost every other thing you have posted to this point."- | |

| Sure players would like a restructure. It doesn't mean that they would take less. It means they would take their money earlier. | |

| What to expect from Lawrence Timmons in 2015
By Daniel Sager
Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons spent the first eight years of his NFL career as a supremely talented, and sometimes under appreciated, cog in the middle of Pittsburgh’s defense.
All it took was an exodus of talent around him for everyone to realize just how valuable Timmons is to the Steelers.
He made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2014 and did everything for the Steelers. His 134 tackles were one of the 10 best totals in the league and one shy of his career high, he contributed two sacks for a Pittsburgh defense that struggled in the pass rush all season and most importantly, he stayed healthy all year and captained a ship that was constantly taking on water.
