Steelers select its team captains

Willy gay/cam heyward
Robert golden

When I saw Robert golden as the only steeler to go out for the coin toss in the final preseason game, I was fairly confident his roster position with secure.

I love the cam Heyward move even over Lawrence Timmons.

William Gay sucks. Might as well have made C Allen captain.

Yeah sarcasm, but making Gay captain of the defense only goes to show how poor and shallow our defense is. I understand he is one of the more veteran players and has been on the team for a while and did a decent job in comparison to other DBs on the team. I would have preferred Harrison.

Ever since Gay got ran over by Adrian Peterson..... he's never been forgiven by a good portion of the Steelers fan base. It was Adrian Peterson, people. Geez!

I don't get it either. He's never been a star but he's never been horrible either. He's a lot like Deshea Townsend IMO. A solid pro who may not be a pro bowl talent but is better than the average guy. Plus, Gay is a good dude too and you have to think that figured when the guys voted their captains. So, I'm stoked for Will and also Cam Heyward. Also props to Ben and Robert Golden on getting the captain spot on their respective units again.

Gay crushed the jaguars highly prized FA TE, julius thomas, breaking his hand and putting him out about 2 months.

Nobody crushes AP. Atleast Gay tried, doing something many other softer CB's wont.

I think Gay has done nothing but improve over the years.
