Steve Smith Sr. - talk shit, you get hit

i think he had 3 catches on the night. the first time he got up jawing at mitchell (former carolina teammate) for tackling him too hard i guess.

the next catch he got clobbered by lawrence timmons and immediately got up in timmons face, talking shit like he wanted to fight him.

the very next play (i think) was his final catch and lawrence timmons hit the shit out of him again and knocked him out of the game. it looked like the kind of shot that could lacerate a spleen.

smith whined about it after the game. screw that loudmouth punk.

I enjoyed it a lot. Watching him stand up and walk with that mean look hes always got.., then lay down in the middle of the field. You can see his facial expression change right as he goes down.

I would have loved to seen Steve Smith Sr. in Baltimore when the rivalry was at its peak [2006 - 2013ish]. Can you imagine him, Lewis, B. Scott, Suggs, and Flacco vs. Harrison, Ward, Smith, Hampton, etc.

I think the "hate" factor would have been a bit higher between the two teams. It seems like the rivalry, still strong, has become more muted the last few years. Probable because we have been down, and [IMO] Baltimore looks to be on a downward trend as well.

Loved it, would have been better if we had won the game though. Did we fire that guy yet?

I don't think he wanted ANY of Timmons. He got up and basically stopped jawing as soon as he got in his face. Bit difference between being a tough guy with little CBs and LBs.

I remember him grabbing Blakes jersey. How that wasn't a warning or flag is beyond me. But, for some reason he gets that Ray Lewis/Andrew Luck/Brett Favre pass from the media and announcers.

Steve Smith is a hypocrite with a big mouth. He somehow gets a reputation of being an NFL tough guy but all he is is a short little dude that has little big man syndrome and is constantly trying to measure up to everyone else like he got picked on in his childhood or something. I for one am tired of the media making him out to be some kind of tough guy role model when he is in fact probably one of the worst role models out there for the kids and young adults watching these games. He's constantly running his mouth, he's known for making threats to assault people, and he's assaulted other players including his own freaking teammates. He's not a role model, and his thuggish tough guy act needs to go. I for one applaud Timmons and Blake for blasting that mouthy douchebag because he deserved every bit of what he got.

People want to see a real tough guy I point you to #92. Or if we're talking tough receivers I'd go with #86.

He plays extremely hard on the field, and is tough in the way he plays the game.

The problem is his mouth. He has played his entire career with a shit attitude based on imaginary slights in his life. He plays angry, and he lives angry. Its who he is. You would think before a player was interviewed and threatened another human being, he would at least know the player that hit him.

The play was completely clean. It was a solid football play, by a solid football player. He's a receiver that caught the ball, stayed inbounds, and was crushed by a linebacker. End of story. Little tough man doesn't want to hear that, and needs something to get him through the next however many games his ego requires to motivate him.

The threats to other people are just ridiculous. How this guy isn't fined every time he opens his mouth is beyond me. He should have had a sledgehammer dropped on him by the NFL by now to shut his stupid ass up.

His "little man with the hard look on his face" act has gotten very old.

Early in his career I looked at him like a Hines type but now I have no respect for him now. There is no comparison. Hines would take a hit,give a hit and always come away smiling. He was the real deal. Not a pretender like Smith.

He's a big asshole who happens to be a very good player. His career stats speak for themselves.

It was a helluva signing by Ozzie....most people thought he was done and he turns out to be the Ravens most dangerous receiver.

Ian Rapoport is still saying that Mike Mitchell is the one who broke his ribs. People need to actually watch the freaking games.

Smith says Mitchell is on his lifetime hit list and he will assault him when he next sees him. Douche. Don't fuck with Timmons. He will pulverize that punk into pulp.

Their other receiver is done for the year with a herniated disk.

When I watched the game I thought what a poor rivalry this is on the field. It seems like all the mean characters of both teams are gone now

Timmons and Blake hit him, but he decides to ignore them and take on Mitchell. Maybe he's smarter than I thought.

If I had to choose between taking on Mitchell or taking on Timmons, I'd take Mitchell all day long too!

Timmons would hit him so hard, there would only be a shit stain where he used to be.
