I need a hockey fix...really, really bad. I know football starts Friday, and once it starts I'll be more interested in the season, but I'm having trouble getting really excited. The lockout dampened my mood so much.
Geno is going to kick the shit out of some goalies this year too. Can. Not. Wait.

LOL!! Great thread. I think now that I'll be at college and I'll need to have something to do when I don't feel like paying attention in class : ), I'll probably buy NHL Gamecenter or whatever the hell it's called.

Haha...yeah, I think that's what it's called. I'm going to get it this year too, just because I'm tired of trying to find working/good game streams. I wish I could do the same for football, but for some asinine reason, Game Pass (which is the only way you can watch live games on the internet...legally) is only available outside the US and Canada. I could get Game Rewind, but I'm on Steelers boards everyday and that would be pointless. Pisses me off.

I did not know that, that's a load of bullshit. I probably wouldn't get it even if it were available. The Steelers are usually nationally televised 4 to 6 times a year anyway, so paying what is probably over $100 for 10 games or so? No F'n way. That's why mlb.tv is such a great deal, $120 for 162 games.
I just went to the Gamecenter website. It says that Gamecenter isn't available to US and Canada residents for the 2010-2011? That was last year, maybe that just means you can't buy it yet. Boy if it's not available next season I'll be pissed.

Yeah, it'll be available for this coming season (I hope)...I think they just don't set it up until closer to the start of the season. I've never gotten it, or looked into it, before the start of the season though...so I'm not 100% sure.
I don't have cable or any kind of reception worth noting out here in the middle of the goddamn woods...so I'd be happy to pay to watch just those (rather than paying $50+/month for cable just for games...I watch everything else on Hulu/NetFlix/Torrents anyhow for $20/month). Plus I'd get to watch other games as well. I'm fine with continuing to use streams I guess, it just gets to be a pain in the ass sometimes. I just couldn't believe that I finally want to give the NFL my money...and they'll have nothing of it.
