Ravens also hate him - Burfict will not be seeing the Panthers for several more years, but not a best practice to antagonize teams you play 4 times each season - plenty of opportunities for a hit to your knee
Ravens have had issues with the Bengals' Vontaze Burfict, too
The Ravens have long believed that the volatile middle linebacker, whose hit to the head of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown contributed to the Bengals’ 18-16 loss in an AFC wild-card game Saturday night, crosses the line with his on-field behavior.
Former Ravens running back Ray Rice got into it with Burfict during a December 2012 game. Former Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith said last year that Burfict was a “heck of a player,” but a “dirty one, too.” Before the Ravens Week Three matchup with the Bengals this season, wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. and Burfict had words as both teams were leaving the field following pregame warm-ups. Burfict, who was inactive for the game as he recovered from a knee injury, was yelling at Smith from across the field.
Then came Burfict’s blindside hit of Ravens’ rookie tight end Maxx Williams in last weekend’s regular-season finale.
