| Here is my latest article for The Point of Pittsburgh. It outlines the DT/DE prospects who may (or may not) be there at pick #25. The Bouillabaisse of A'Jarrandrew Robillinseed by Tiger Rowan As I have mentioned before, the Steelers need an additional defensive lineman, who can play nose tackle and also rotate at defensive end. Considering that the nose tackle was only on the field for 30% of the snaps, a player who can also be a part of the rotation at defensive end is critical. Cameron Heyward played 88% of the defensive snaps and Stephon Tuitt played 78% of the snaps. By season’s end, those two players were worn out, and in turn their play diminished, which affected the play of the entire defense. Moreover, when Heyward and/or Tuitt were given a breather, teams would readily move the ball on the Steelers. This can best be exemplified by Denver’s lone touchdown drive in last season’s playoff game. There are a plethora of defensive linemen in this draft. So much so, that a “first round” type of player can be found in the second round. Ergo, one could say that it would be more logical to wait to draft a defensive lineman, such as Austin Johnson (Penn St.), Javon Hargrave (South Carolina St.), or Adolphus Washington (Ohio St.) at pick 58. That is very true, very logical. Then again, at pick 25, one could get a “top fifteen” player… which is what I would prefer, and thus, those are the players on whom I shall focus my attention. | Also what I see coming to fruition. Seeing more of a pass rush, collapsing the pocket, and wreaking havoc on opposing QBs is something we all want to see as fans of physical Steelers football. One of thise three guys + a 2nd round defensive back will do much more to help our pass defense than a first round DB on his own as I see it. I want to see us bring the NT back into the fold as a deadly force up the middle. Lost that with Casey Hampton. Getting that back would be nice. Cant wait for thursday. | |

| It all starts up front, but with Tuitt and Heyward in the fold, I cant help but think you find another D linemen in the 2nd or 3rd round, while there is better talent in the back 7 on the board than is on the roster. I cant help but think you take a Safety, CB or OLB that is ranked #30 instead of a DT that is ranked at #25 | |

| I'm afraid to say which DL I want because itll probably be the kiss of death....thankfully there's enough talent there that I don't think I'll hate it if we don't end up with the guy/guys I like the most _________________ Previously known as: Steel_Bus_24 Member of Steelers Fever forums since 06

| There is far more talented D lineman then DB's so I just think we go DB first and find a gem in round 2 to plug up the middle. After saying this they will probably pick up an OLB number one. | |

That is my thought, too. Solidifying the D-line helps the LBs, who get a better pass rush, which helps the secondary. .

I cant help but think you take a Safety, CB or OLB that is ranked #30 instead of a DT that is ranked at #25 I get that logic. There are fewer good CBs and only one blue-chip OLB (Spence) in this draft. Whereas, there are a dozen (literally) DT/DEs that are Pro Bowl level. So, address one of the positions where the pickings are slim FIRST, and take one of the many DT/DEs in R2. If A'Jarrandrew Robillingseed is gone, I'm all for that. (Then, hope that Johnson, Hargrave, Washington, and possibly Clark drops to 58.) .

Indeed. We all have our favorite, but it's like ice cream: I might not get java chip, instead I get chunky monkey... it's not my favorite, but it's still ice cream. .

On a similar topic... what if the pick is a WR??? How would you react? .

. For me it would be a weird mix of anger and positive curiousity. Because it would speak volumes of what they think of Golson and Dan McCullers. I'd be mad but it would make the wait for the regular season seem longer ( ) because I would wanna see that offense in action!! It would be a move "too genius" for me to understand
