In the 2009 season the Steelers lost their fourth game in a row by taking the lead with less than 2 minutes to go after Ben threw a TD pass to a receiver running down the right sideline, after which the opposing team then went on a length of the field TD drive and scored with 9 seconds left (sound familiar?)

I don't like the sound of that rhyme. I remember that 09 game well. It would have seemed impossible, last week even, to think there was any possibility of a loss this week. It likely is still impossible but I hate the precedent was set.

I think i know what the problem is. We might have a reverse curse involving the Terrible Towel. The Steelers have not won a game since this happened on October 10th ...




Just sayin'.

The game will be televised here so I will watch it. It's rough when you can't trust your favorite team against a woeful win less team.

0-10 Browns team, on the road, with a Steelers team that shits the bed against inferior competition.

I believe this is now a customary practice for all Steelers fans by Tuesday morning.

If the Steelers win and Ravens lose to Dallas, then Steelers are tied for AFC North but Ravens currently have the tiebreaker.

Take a look at the remaining schedule and the Ravens remaining schedule and if you think the Steelers still don't have a chance to win the division, then you are truly a pessimist.

Bengals 1/2 game back of Steelers - no tiebreakers likely there

Steelers need to sweep the remaining division games (2 Browns games, @Cincy, Ravens at home for Christmas) - if they lose in Cincy my guess is the Bengals end up with a better record

If we lose to the Brownies that will be an all time low for this squad. Sad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I do think we're going to beat up on the Browns though, but my confidence in this team is shaky at best.

We could go 7-0 and the rest of the division 2-5, who knows.

Not throwing in the towel just yet. I always support the team but things are definitely not looking good right now especially with Heyward being out for the season. We could make a run, the NFL is unpredictable like that, I'm just not getting my hopes up.

Steelers weren't pegged by many as a super bowl favorite by accident. I still believe they can do it...if the team really wants to.

Hoping...wishing.....or even thinking that this year's team can duplicate what that 76 team did down the stretch is unrealistic.    

That 76 team probably had the greatest Steelers defense of all time.      

This year's team may be the worst Steelers defense of all time.

The line is beginning to blur on whether the drinking is for the loss that just happened or the loss that is coming up.

Let’s go down to where the franchise’s very worst defenses become visible — at least since the NFL instituted a 16-game schedule in 1978. There haven’t been many bad ones, frankly, because the Steelers have made their reputation on not just stopping people but bludgeoning them.

That doesn’t happen anymore. This season is not an aberration. The aberration was last season, when the defense bounced back to flip a ton of fields via sacks and turnovers.

This season marks the continuation of a pattern that began, really, with Aaron Rodgers slicing up the Stained Curtain in Super XLV and manifested in some truly sorry outfits in 2013 and ’14....

FWIW defensive coordinator Tony Dungy resigned rather than be demoted at the end of the 1988 season

We have the offense to do it. We just need our players on D to re learn (or learn) how to tackle. Harrison starting and Dupree coming back should help with pressure.

this is the Browns superbowl and play up to the Steelers, where did I hear how bad teams play up to the Steelers.

stop the 10 yards + pass patterns and you stop the Steelers offense. seems Ben dislike the short passing game unless its Bell out of the backfield.

Or went for 2 again and failed (insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result) but put away the game with a safety after the Browns pulled within one point when Haley called a reverse from the Steelers one yard line and Brwon was tackled in the end zone
