| James Harrison spells it out, almost perfectly.... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/james-harrison-steelers-defense-totally-expletive-ben-has-no-answers-for-issues/ - Quote :
- James Harrison after the game was quite candid about the unit, calling it "totally shitty."
' Ben also made comments about the team not being on the same page: - Quote :
- "Is it players? Is it coaches? I don't know, but we need to get there quick," Roethlisberger said.

| Jarvis Jones is a joke. Once again beat out by a 38 year old player well past his prime. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt | |

I thought he was playing a bit better, but still not well enough to constitute a starting LB job. I suspect he will be gone, or will be taking a backup's salary.

I suspect he will be gone, or will be taking a backup's salary. He'll get a pressure here or there or force a funble but he is wildly inconsistent. I've seen enough from him that I'm pretty well fed up with the guy. It's like he hasn't learned a thing since he was drafted. Has something like 5 sacks for his career, one of my Iowa guys Adrian Clayborn had 7.5 sacks as a rookie. Jones is a career backup, I think he's like an Arthur Moats. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

| Yeah, speaking of defense, does anyone know the status of DuPree?
Also, don't know why Gilbert isn't out there. You have a highly talented top 10 draft pick who was enthusiastic about coming to this team and he can't get on the field. In the meantime Burns (I already don't like the name) is getting picked on right and left.
As far as run support, yeah we'll miss Heyward, maybe were missing Mclendon also.

I think he could possibly return this weekend, but I think we'll likely see him next week. I don't know with this team, I was surprised to see Ledarius Green out there against the Cowboys. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

. If Burns is playing instead of Gilbert, it likely means that Burns is outperforming Gilbert in practice. Coaches aren't going to put a worse player on the field just so the fans can confirm he is worse than another player at the position..........unless his name is Antowan Blake or Jarvis Jones.

Not to defend the coaches, but starting Blake over Boykin last year might not have been as bad as we all thought it was. After all, Boykin was dancing to the old "1 Foot, 2 Foot, Big Foot, Little Foot".

Sorry, but the only thing worse than starting Blake last year would have been if they traded for Greg Toler so they could start him instead. Cockrell and Gay should have started on the outside and either use Boykin, Blake or Golden in the slot. Playing the worst CB in football week after week is one of the worst decisions I have seen as 35+ year Steeler fan.

| hoping the Steelers new young DBs really come together next season Sean Davis take over Mitchell roster spot. lack of a pass rush isn't helping out this year. would like the Steelers draft Zach Cunningham Vanderbilt http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/2079823/zach-cunningham could be a Jack Ham type of LB. Second round DeMarcus Walker DE Florida State with Bud Dupree on the other side with Tuitt Hayward Hargrave and McCullers in the middle. for a 4-3 defense the Steelers are set at DT with a great rotation of players they just need DEs and OLBs. imo the Steelers have the DTs to keep Shazier clean and the DBs on the backend they just need the edge players to make a 4-3 defense great. I know Steelers fans are about the 3-4 defense. but what stopped the Patriots* in their prime from winning a couple more superbowls? a damn good Giants front four. _________________ Hunter is perfect example of America democracy When money becomes ideology the gangsters become leaders Several species of small furry animals gathered together grooving with a pict "Sinful mankind latches onto bad ideas to justify their sinful behavior."

| Any chance Dupree plays this Thursday?
I already conceded that they won't be winning any championship this year, but I do like watching the young defense develop. I think this draft shows promise, being our 3 top picks earned starting jobs.

Maybe they get him a few snaps, but I think they stick with the 4 guys they have rotated so far. As for the young draft picks, I would say I am most disappointed with Davis. The kid misses tackles and reaches instead of using his feet. Burns, I am pleasantly surprised, although I still see some tendancy to play bail coverage instead of backpedal, which has cost him on intermediate routes. Also, last week Burns looks to be peeking like he did in college and trying to cheat on the QB eyes. I hope that Luck doesn't abuse that on Thursday.
