- Steelers backup quarterback Landry Jones becomes a free agent next month, but the team appears ready to make sure he stays in Pittsburgh.
The Steelers view Jones as better than 80 percent of the other backups in the league, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. If that’s the case, it’s hard to see how the Steelers could let him get away, unless some other team were willing to offer Jones starter money. I don't see any team, except maybe Cleveland, willing to give Jones starter money. So for now, looks like Jones will be a Steeler for a few more years. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

| Cant wait to see the fan hatred and overreaction to the backup QB again. Entertaining. | |

| He has improved. With our improved defense and an O-line that can protect him he probably is our best option going in to camp. | |

I believe Jones will be back on a 3 year deal. If so, I doubt they'll draft a QB this year.

| I don't mind them keeping him around, he knows the system and there's not a whole lot of options out there on the free agent market. Right now he's probably the best bet because of his knowledge and familiarity with the system and his teammates. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt | |
