Golson caught with gun in bag at airport, report says

Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson was stopped by TSA after a gun was found in his carry-on bag at the Mobile Regional Airport on Wednesday, according to TMZ Sports.

The second-year player from Ole Miss wasn't arrested, despite carrying 23 rounds of ammunition since the Glock .45 caliber pistol didn't have a bullet in the chamber.

The gun was technically unloaded and Alabama police were not concerned. Police actually offered to hold the gun for him until he returned from his travels, the report says.

Sounds like an honest mistake if he wasn't arrested. A stupid one, but glad it seems to have just been a mistake.

What did Golson have so far? Not one full and complete practice and 3 snaps in 2 years? His football skills have to be extremely raw at this point.

Give him a chance, but be fully prepared to move on if needed.

If he doesn't break out instead of break something this year I say move on.

Geez this guy...hire a licensed bodyguard if you are that concerned with your safety. And if you are that concerned, you are doing things you shouldn't be doing with the people you shouldn't be around...

Maybe he carries that gun to shoot himself in the foot ... you know, just in case he gets close to succeeding in life.

All jokes aside, I fully support his freedom to exercise his 2nd Amendment rights. However, he has to understand that his coaches and employer may now have an impression that he's just another thug. There's a fine line between exercising your rights and suffering negative consequences from society's perceptions.

I agree. As an NFL player (we think,maybe this year) or celebrity you have to think ahead. You have to know the rules and (I've said this time and again) not put yourself in these positions. It's just common sense.

I know where my gun i at all times and i'm definitely not trying to get on a plane with it without letting proper authorities know....i smell bust, but i smelled that on draft day
