| Mayfield looked good for one game, against the Jets. I'm not sold on him just yet. Definitely breathed some life into the Browns offense though. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up against better competition. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt | |

Raiders just beat the Browns. Sad the Raiders could find a way to win, but we tied them. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

| Hue Jackson doesn't rule out taking the playcalling back from Todd HaleyBrowns coach Hue Jackson was furious about the Browns' offensive performance during Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the Bucs, and didn't rule out taking the playcalling back from offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. http://www.theredzone.org/Blog-Description/EntryId/73027/Hue-Jackson-doesn-t-rule-out-taking-the-playcalling-back-from-Todd-Haley _________________ Trump is living the American dream! - Under Haley's guidance, the Browns were predictable on offense. Following first-down incompletions or sacks, it was almost a given that Cleveland would call a running play. If spectators knew those plays were coming, you can bet defenses did as well. The Browns owned a 6 percent success rate on such runs, per Warren Sharp. The banality of Haley's offense began to hinder Mayfield's growth.

| While I'm not the biggest Todd Haley fan, that was definitely a package deal. I don't think Haley was nearly as much to blame for the dumpster fire that is the Browns as Jackson was. Jackson is a terrible HC. He might be a good OC, but he's horrible as an HC because he is a complete and total pushover. Haley basically called him out on this on Hard Knocks. The Browns have been soft, because their head coach is soft.
I think the best course of action, especially with a young rookie QB would've been to keep Haley as the OC, and still make Gregg Williams the Interim Head Coach. Then you have two coaches that don't put up with BS, and expect more from their team.
Who knows though. Maybe Haley told them he didn't want to be there if he wasn't going to get the Interim HC job. Nobody knows what went on behind closed doors but them. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

Yeah I don't get that either. I mean it wasn't as if their defense was some kind of unstoppable force. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

So that's why they promoted him to HC?

- Hue Jackson is back in Cincinnati.
The former Cleveland Browns head coach is joining the Cincinnati Bengals' coaching staff as special assistant to the head coach, effective immediately, the team announced Tuesday.
"I have a great comfort level with Hue and his ability to assist me with the day-to-day responsibilities on defense, including analyzing our opponents and helping me on game days with the players and defensive coaches," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said.
Jackson was fired by the Browns less than two weeks ago after compiling a 3-36-1 record over two-plus seasons with the team. Read the rest... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000987687/article/exbrowns-coach-hue-jackson-joins-bengals-staff
