Who arrived in the fire truck? I like that entrance. One of my favorite entrances was Max Starks in an old Impala convertible.

Eli Rogers shows up at Steelers training camp literally ready to work

Many NFL players want to show up to training camp with all the flash they possibly can. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown showed up in an antique Rolls-Royce and linebacker James Harrison showed up driving a fire truck. But wide receiver Eli Rogers came dressed for work. Literally.

Rogers shared this pic of himself before showing up to camp in a white hard hat and blue coveralls, representing the hard working people of Pittsburgh.

Watt takes first-team reps, Harrison sits out Steelers' practice

When you are 39 years old, a 14-year veteran and the franchise leader in sacks, you can take a practice off now and then. That’s what Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison did to kick off training camp. This meant plenty of first-team reps for rookie T.J. Watt.

Watt is the heir apparent at right outside linebacker for the Steelers and he’s getting his first taste of it very early. Harrison chose to be a sort of non-participant at practice opting for his trademark great sweat pants and hoodie playing the part of mentor and coach.

Justin Hunter cashing in with red-zone receptions

Justin Hunter has a different term for the red zone.

He calls it the “money zone.”

“And I'm trying to get all that cash in there.”

So far in Steelers training camp, the veteran wide receiver is filling up that imaginary wallet quite nicely.

In the first two days of camp, Hunter was the star of the drill-opening “Seven Shots” competition, in which the offense gets seven attempts at scoring from the 2-yard line.

Hunter had touchdown receptions each day, including a nifty grab in the back of the end zone between two defenders on Saturday.

Worth repeating. Josh Dobbs had a really strong day. Wasn't about any one spectacular throw he made. Showed consistency uncommon in rookie.

KEEP AN EYE ON...: Rookie quarterback Josh Dobbs just made a string of quality throws in 11-man work against the third team, including an on-the-money deep out to Canaan Severin. Dobbs has had his uneven moments in camp but was cleaner from the pocket today.

Want to know a stat that tells you how much better Artie is doing? AB has caught only 43% of targets. 75% last camp.

Defense shoulda won the day. No AB, no Bryant, no Bell. It's basically the 2nd team offense out there.

With that said, I'm liking how it seems like the defense is a lot more confident this year. And seems like Matakevich is having a strong camp. Coaching staff is confident in him being the top backup in both ILB slots maybe for a good reason.

McCullers is a disappointment, I don't know what's up with this guy. All the reports over the years make it seem like he's gotten WORSE every year. This guy obviously doesn't love playing football and will likely not be playing in the NFL past this year, granted if he's not already cut after camp.
