New mobile app

I'm putting this here instead of in the Announcements forum because this is where everyone is more likely to see it. In a week or so, I'll move it to Announcements.

Over the years, I've heard complaints about our mobile version being less than adequate and Tapatalk not being compatible with SX. The bad news is that Tapatalk still isn't compatible. The good news is that there's now an app that is. It's called Topic'it.

It's a new app, and we haven't played with it too much. From the feedback I've gotten from the mods, it's not Tapatalk, but it's definitely an upgrade over our current mobile version. My one complaint is that it took me a bit to figure out how to navigate it. I'm old school and still use the classic version, so others might have an easier time figuring it out.

If you're interested, give it a shot. If you do, please post some feedback in this thread, along with any questions you have.

Download the app.
Create a Topic'it account.
Add Steelers Xreme to your forum list.

I'll give it a whirl and let you know how it works.

Using the app now. It's better than the mobile webpage. I don't like the aggregate "feeds" of all your boards on the main page, but I can deal with it.

Do you have more than just SX on there? If so, I think it's designed to be like a twitter feed. At least that's my impression.

I haven't figured out yet how to add other forums.

Might have to download this and see how it works, I'm kind of a sucker for the classic site though, but willing to try new things.

I've given up on this app. It provides some nice functionality, but there are some glitches that I just can't get over, especially when it randomly logs me out of both the app and the forum.

The app is still in beta, so some glitches are to be expected early on. I was mainly concerned with its functionality. From what I've heard so far, it seems better than our current mobile version. We'll just have to wait until the bugs get worked out. So hopefully you give it another shot down the road. Either way, I appreciate you giving it a try and giving us some feedback.

I didn't realize it was still in beta. I'll give it another try. I do like the functionality that this app provides over the standard mobile site.
