Bengals send Burfict to Steelers for first round pickIn a surprising and shocking move the Cincinnati Bengals have traded their top linebacker Vontaze Burfict to their AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers. In return the Bengals acquire the 28th pick from the Steelers in the upcoming draft. Yesterday, both coach Marvin Lewis and director of player personnel Duke Tobin told The Cincinnati Enquirer Burfict's job was safe in Cincinnati. Not so much apparently. While this move will surprise many it makes sense for both teams. The Bengals found a way to get nice value for their much-maligned linebacker, the latest facing a four game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Meanwhile, the Steelers get one of the best players at a position of need. General manager Kevin Colbert stated earlier that he was not impressed by this year's linebacker class. To make room for Burfict and his huge contract the Steelers also cut safety J.J. Wilcox and cornerback Coty Sensabaugh. | I hear this is why they put Bell on hold so Burfict can switch to RB. Then we'll switch JU JU to LB.  If Burfict can get by him he can get by anyone. | |
