He was released and I'm just wondering if it's possible with our current cap situation to release Burnet and pick him up. He always seemed pretty solid when we played them.

I'm not sure if he'd be the answer. I don't know what the answer is. But they have to do something.

I'm not sure he's the answer either. I'm pretty sure ILB is as much our problem as anything but our Safeties have got to tackle,period. There just doesn't seem to be any gap integrity any more. Way to many holes in our run defense.

I still like Burnett, and we have the young Edmunds waiting in the wings. Give them a chance. Burnett is a veteran but he's also playing in a totally different city with a totally different team with a different coaching staff, and different language defensively. He just needs some time to gel with these guys and develop some chemistry.

I haven't been able to watch either game so far and hearsay is that Burnet looks slow and not a sure tackler so far. I also know it's premature to condemn the guy based on a couple bad games considering he's a first year guy with us. I also think Edmunds will be a starter early on. Probably not at the start of the season but by the halfway point I think he wins the job. Of course I could be wrong about all of this.
