Am I the only one that thinks AB isn't giving it his all?

Watching that Ravens game, AB disappeared in the second half. One play stood out to me. Ben threw a poor ball that was behind AB who I think was running a crosser. AB saw the ball and kind of gave this half-hearted effort reaching out with only one hand. I think this is a ball AB routinely catches. His attitude to me still seems to be off. I think he's still very obsessed with his personal stat line, and while I admire that he wants to be the best statistically, it doesn't help your team when you're not buying in.

He still seems to make a play here or there, but I feel, and maybe it's just me, that he's half-assing it.

When I said the other day that this team was a bunch of selfish individuals he was one of the ones I was talking about. It just seems to me that we have more than a few who are really self centered.

AB, Burns, Dupree, Bell goes without saying even though I no longer consider him a part of this team. All of these guys have and are still having a negative impact on the "Team" mentality. Tomlin doesn't help when he lets them roam free unchecked.

Yeah the negative attitudes definitely don't help. Burns seems to have a defeatist attitude. Pretty much moping that he's not the starter anymore, well then nut up and earn your job back kid.

AB is just not himself. He'll make a play here and there but all too often it appears to me that he's just going through the motions. He isn't laying out for the ball every time like he normally would, and outside of a couple of nice TD catches he's been pretty pedestrian overall. He's just not the playmaker we're accustomed to seeing. I wonder if it's just Ben spreading the ball around more, or if it's a product of Randy Fichtner's offense. I am starting to think it's Fichtner's offense that's to blame. Either way, it's a different system and AB has to learn to play within it rather than expecting it to be the same as it was before.

I noticed last season that a couple times AB had the CB beat but the Safety was there. It would have been a tough catch but that's what AB does. He pulled up instead making a business decision as they like to call it nowadays. I think the Burfict hit changed his mindset a lot but this is something totally different. I agree it has to do with Fichtner and him not getting the ball enough to suit him.
It's like he thinking If I don't get my chances I'm not going to get hurt making the tougher catches

every defense knows Ben forgets there are other receivers on his team, take AB out of the game and you have a great chance of stopping the Steelers offense and winning game the Steelers defense isn't going to stop you. imo the only way the Steelers will win games this year is if the opposing team stop themselves.

sorry I'm a being Debbie downer but I've haven't felt like this since the sorry Steelers teams of the 80's.

I don't think it helps that with all the talent, and going to the playoffs last year that we had high expectations as a fanbase for this team. I try to temper my own expectations, but I still expected much more than what we've seen from this team so far. Being at the Chiefs game made it all the more disappointing. My Brother's first experience at a game, and he gets treated to a horrible defense. Overall it was a fun game to watch just because it was so back-and-forth, but it's disappointing when you save money for months, work a bunch of overtime, drive long distances, and then that's what you get to see. I think some of these players need to stop and think about how much some of us fans put into this team, especially AB who wants to throw sideline tantrums and embarrass himself and the team.

I'm hoping they'll make some kind of historic turnaround, but with what I've seen so far, I don't think we're making the playoffs, and it's a strong possibility this becomes Tomlin's first losing season.
