Who’s hot (or not): The Browns have a new look on offense from the first meeting, the most significant at quarterback where Mayfield has replaced Tyrod Taylor. Mayfield had an impressive debut, leading a comeback victory against the Jets for the Browns first victory since 2016, and then putting up 42 points against the Raiders. He also threw for 342 yards in an overtime victory against the Ravens.

Steelers RT Marcus Gilbert ruled out vs. Cleveland Browns

PITTSBURGH -- Matt Feiler is set to start again.

After filling in for Marcus Gilbert (knee) at right tackle in Week 3, Feiler got a full week of practice replacing the veteran offensive lineman before Sunday's 1 p.m. matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

"I like it," he said. "It's something that I always stay ready for.

The Steelers listed Gilbert as out in Friday's status report.

Steelers teammates confident in Sunday starting right tackle Matt Feiler

Maurkice Pouncey has seen the likes of former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line mates Chris Hubbard and Kelvin Beachum leave and earn big money with other teams because there wasn’t an opening on the Steelers’ longtime starting unit.

Friday, he made a prediction about who the next longtime backup who makes the bigtime will be.

“I can tell you about (Matt Feiler) right now,” Pouncey said, “if he’s not with us (longterm) he will get paid very well somewhere.

“We love Matt – he’s been here a while now. We’ve just got very lucky for him to be one of our guys we keep around. Because he should be a starter in this league.”

L.J. Fort, Darrius Heyward-Bey to return Sunday for Steelers; Xavier Grimble cleared, too

Three veteran reserves were cleared to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Linebacker L.J. Fort, receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey and tight end Xavier Grimble emerged unscathed from a practice week in which each was listed on the injury report. All three will play when the Steelers host the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field.

Morgan Burnett's return gives the Steelers defense more versatility

Saying “everything went well this week” in regards to his return to a full complement of practices while with a nagging groin injury, safety Morgan Burnett will to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers defense on Sunday.

“It’s good to get back into the flow of things and get back into a normal work week,” Burnett said after practice Friday.

Burnett had not been listed as a full participant for any Steelers practice over the entire month of October (his most recent time being Sept. 26) until he made it through the past three days unscathed.

although rookie Terrell Edmunds has said he will retain the starting job at strong safety, Burnett is in line to play a significant role during Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Steelers ready to face new-look Browns offense Sunday

New quarterback. New running back. New wide receiver.

Sounds like the typical yearly turnover for the Cleveland Browns.

The only difference is, this turnover isn’t from last year. It’s from last month.

When the Browns visit Heinz Field on Sunday, Tyrod Taylor will be on the bench, Carlos Hyde will be carrying the ball for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Josh Gordon will be catching passes for the New England Patriots*.

Those three players accounted for all three touchdowns the Browns scored in the season-opening 21-21 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They also combined for 137 yards rushing, 197 passing and 20 receiving in that game.

can the Steelers defense get a couple of turnovers against the young guys? would like to see the Steelers defense make this offense look ugly to put more pressure on coaches Haley and Jackson.

Defensive end Myles Garrett not only spent that rainy afternoon in Cleveland disrupting Ben Roethlisberger and helping to force three first-half interceptions. He forced the key fumble on James Conner with seven minutes remaining that started the Browns’ comeback from a 14-point deficit and forced a 21-21 overtime tie.

Ben needs to get the ball out a little faster and blocking adjustments to slow this guy down.

one game at a time can't win this one the others become less important.

Chubb is a pretty good RB and we have to stop him. Sure tackling and getting in their backfield to disrupt Mayfield. We have to make Mayfield hold the ball until we get there. He does well when his primary is open and he can release the ball quickly. We will have to make him go through his progressions. He's young and he gets confused. We have to keep him confused about our coverage.

Not a great start but I'm not panicking yet. Its the NFL, its not how you start, its how you finish.

I am a little conerned. The Browns are moving the ball at will, but are stalling. The Steelers haven't moved the ball 10 yards yet.

This has all the makings of a Tomlin play down to the competition game.

That was an incredible play by Baker-Mayfield to avoid the sack.
