Steelers at Titans PS3 - Goats - Gameballs - Player of the Game

Goats:
Dobbs - looked like he had no control of the offense tonight

Gameballs:
Defense - played lights out tonight. If they maintain the intensity, they'll be a top defense again
Conner - running down field

Player of the Game:
Skipper - He was solid in his play, even against the third stringers. I'm excited to see if he makes the squad

Game Balls:

Starting O-line for doing a good job in protection and blocking for Connor.
Tuitt was a force. The Safety he got was textbook.
D-line looked good and the tackling was good.

Goats:

McDonald. 2 targets = 2 drops.

Dobbs. If you keep him in the pocket you can pretty much shut him down.

Guys who looked good to me.

Cam Kelly
Gilbert III

I think our secondary has more versatility than we've had in quite some time.

I only watched the first half but I kept saying "Wow". I don't care if it's preseason but that defense looked better than I've seen in a long time and the offense kind of sputtered in the beginning but it came around (I don't think the rain helped).

I am super excited for the season and I dare say more than usual. I feel like this team has the potential to do big things and be very exciting.

Defense looked solid. Great pressure and coverage. Ben's throws were on point and he got comfortable pretty quickly. His protection was great.

Special Teams.... sigh

Even Artie Burns is playing like a 1st round draft again which is promising considering all his woes last year.

Hoping S Davis isn't hurt to bad he came off the field and looked in a lot of pain.

Over all a good solid game versus a mediocre NFL team.

Game balls: Ben, JuJu, defense, starting O-line.

Goats: McDonald, coaching staff for having Moncrief higher on the depth chart than Washington.

Yeah Washington may end up the best "#3" in the league and he's clearly better than Moncrief. I bet if not by now they will regret the Moncrief signing. They'll never admit it because they like their jobs. Right now it looks like a bad move. Where it could become a Blunder is if they keep JW off the field to justify Moncrief's contract.

Dobbs was terrible. Again this guy can't throw accurately with consistency on the short to intermediate routes. He managed to overthrow a 6'8" Zach Gentry forcing him to jump for the ball which lead to the interception. Dobbs apologists are actually trying to blame Gentry for that INT, yeah no, that's all on Dobbs.

Dobbs has hit his ceiling IMO. It's time for the Steelers to move on. Hodges has shown more promise and he's just a rookie.

I have the same observations/opinions as most here. I will add that Spencer won't make the 53 imo, he hasn't shown anything as a receiver so far. Maybe not his fault, because he had 0 targets the last 2 games, but he's not going to make the roster as a return specialist alone. As hard as I want and hope Skipper to make the 53 too, it will be more difficult than most people think. First, because he doesn't play ST, something teams want their back-ups to do. Second, because Chickillo is a difficult cut because of the dead cap space. Maybe Ola's injury can help Skipper to make the team. Kam Kelly and Gilbert III should make the roster.

Oh, and McDonald needs to step up his game really fast. A fumble against the Chiefs and now 2 drops. With Grimble and Gentry as #2, it's not the time for our #1 to have an off-year.

I thought I saw Skipper in on STs. I do like the way he stays around the ball and hustles. The fact that Switzer started the night returning kicks said a lot about Spencer. I agree he doesn't have a good chance to make the 53.

Nice of Steelers Depot to publish an article after my post where I explained why I fear he won't make the 53. Seems my fear is legit
It's ridiculous he didn't get any ST snaps in preseason, let's hope they put him on ST in week 4.
