Just to let you know I can't access the site from my usual browsers/devices. Normally I use Chrome, but I get an error every time I try to visit the site with my laptop or smartphone. Now using Firefox that never remembers my history, so it probably has something to do with not cleaning my cookies. Maybe I'm not the only one with that problem, so you might need to look into that.

There was an issue over the weekend where no one could access the forum. I thought I solved the problem, but maybe not entirely. I also use chrome on my phone, and I'm not having any issues. What error message are you getting?

Translated from Dutch so maybe not entirely correct, I get:
This site is not accessible
https://www.steelersxtreme.com/ doesn't work for the moment, or the page can be moved to a new webaddress.

After erasing all my cookies I now can access the site again in Chrome after ignoring a message that this site is not secure

Ok. That's the same thing I encountered. What I discovered is that Forumotion changed all of its forums from http to https. We've had the option to do it manually, but I hadn't done it yet. I guess they forced it, and it broke something on our forum lol. I cleared my cache and was able to access the forum. I then switched it back to http, which I assumed fixed the problem. Apparently not. I'll work on it this weekend. Disclaimer: There's a 70 percent chance I'll make the problem worse.

I don't know if other members still have trouble to access the site or not. Maybe it's an option to send a newsletter/mail to everyone that if they can't visit the site they need to clear their cache/cookies to get access again.

This community has survived through a lot in the past decade. It would make for an interesting book.
Forumotion has SX all screwed up since it forced us from http to https. Manually switching it back didn't solve the problem. I've done tests on the site, and they say our SSL certificate has expired, hence the warnings people are getting. But in the admin panel, it says our certificate is active. I haven't had time to dig deeper. The site is fine ... that certificate is throwing things off. I might have to get someone smarter than me to look into it.
On the bright side, we finally have a Like feature that lets you know who liked a post. We've finally moved into the 21st century. Barely, but I'm counting it as a win.

Sometime in the next week, I'm going to be doing some tinkering. The "not secure" warning is likely to pop up again as I switch the forum back to https and try to get to the bottom of the problem. The forum will still be accessible. If for some reason it's not, it'll be temporary. Unless I can't fix the problem, in which case it was nice knowing yinz.

The cert is expired. That is why it keeps coming up with the site is not secure error. I'm not sure how forummotion does their certs, but getting a new/renewed cert should solve the issue.

Yeah, that's the issue I'm having. Forumotion handles the certificate, and it's supposed to be renewed automatically. It says ours has expired, but in the admin panel, it says that it's active. I'm going to have to reach out to Forumotion.

Bayz has submitted a ticket with Forumotion, I think the issue is on their end and not ours.

So sorry everyone for the problems. Thank you Iowa & Wallace for bringing it to my attention. The SSL certificate was never pushed through for our domain and should be all good now.

Did they explain why it said on our end that the certificate was active when it hadn't even been pushed through?

The excuse they used was “indeed, there is a necessary delay for security certificates on private domains” aka: we only handle private domain SSL’s on the request of the domain owner.
Basically, if it happens again I’ll just have to let them know. I can’t see why it isn’t automated, but to be 100% honest with you I’m surprised forumotion didn’t sell off years ago

Better to be an ass than a dick!! Not saying any names, Iowa.
Iowa is the real hero here. He fixed the “forum lock” icon at the bottom of the forum page & reset my password so I could log in and potentially fuck things up. Thankfully I didn’t. I couldn’t even find the icon page in the admin panel.
