they been "dew" for a good game the last 14 weeks. at some point we just need to accept that what we have seen is what we will get. if there is a fix , then every coach should be fired for taking 15 weeks to figure it out.

I drive a civic that gets 40+ MPG. I'm active on social media but I make it a point to Never bring up anything personal. That's what private messaging or old fashion face to face is for IMO. I read posts where people say stuff that they wouldn't have the nerve to say to someone's face yet they'll make an ass out of themselves for the world to see.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

I find that I can't get to excited about this game. If we win it will boost my enthusiasm but after the last 3 weeks I can honestly say I have little faith in our offense and our defense looks tired by the second half so there's that. I know we're banged up all around but true championship teams find a way and it just looks like we've lost ours altogether.

the offense needs to get their time of possession up to 35:00 minutes per game and score points to help out this banged up defense if not Steelers aren't going to win many games.
yes after the last 3 games not very high on the team now.

Yesterday's injury report. Biggest concerns are Tuitt and Boswell.

I tend to usually be positive, but I find myself agreeing with both of you. I see this game as a loss.
I don't think we turn it around until we get a running game - and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
A question, and I leave this open for anyone but would love to hear Kirkland's analysis....
I saw Brian Baldinger's report about how the Ravens run the ball - one pulling guard, sometimes two pulling guards plus misdirection. Are we doing much of that? The misdirection, I swear we were doing more of that earlier in the season, and the result was a much stronger running game. Seems like we're going "helmet on helmet" instead - which is a losing proposition most of the time. Sun Tsu - The Art of War. Outnumber your opponent. Give yourself an advantage every time. I just don't see us doing that. Until we do, I don't see us winning another game.
Thoughts?

I won't attempt to an analysis here. I agree with what you said about us pulling early on. I think I mentioned back then that I thought Fieler was a better run blocker than a pass protector. Maybe it's all the injuries. I mean on both sides we have starters out and then backups getting hurt and having to play people at positions that don't play into their strengths. Add to that an OC who can't seem to adjust to anything other than PLAN A.I also think Covid has taken it's toll on us as much or more than any other team.Having said that once again championship teams learn to deal with whatever comes down the pike. This is why I don't think this team, this year is going far. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Williams back...Boswell out again...from Post Gazette:
Quote :
Steelers place kicker Chris Boswell will miss a second game in the past month, and linebackers Marcus Allen and Ola Adeniyi also have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Colts. All three had been listed as questionable on Friday.
Vince Williams, who was activated from the COVID list on Friday, and Avery Williamson will start on the inside and Scales will be the only reserve. Robert Spillane, who injured his knee against Washington, is eligible to return from injured reserve next week.
Really hoping for a Sunday miracle. If this would be Ben's last year it would be good to see him at least go out with a division title.

I think its possible that the Brown stains will lose to the Jets. They've got a LOT of covid problems. 6 players out including 4 WR's. So we might just stumble to a division title.
But if Ben can't play any better, then its really not going to matter anyway.
The Colts are probably a better match-up for us than the Browns. They are very poor defensively against the pass, and they are missing both their starting tackles. Should give our D a boost and Ben should be able to connect on some long ones. Again though, the way he's been playing....
I think in the off-season, if we aren't in position to draft the next Franchise QB (which I don't think we will be), then we draft some major pieces for the future - Top lineman or two, or top RB (I was disappointed we didn't draft Jonathan Taylor when we had a chance)....then roll with Rudolph (or better - Dobbs. I'm still in his corner), go through a middling year and be able to draft a QB the next year. Yes - I am assuming Ben retires after this year.
I'm also STILL in favor of trading Ju Ju. I had suggested it at the last draft and I still think we should have done it.

if they dont get a qb in the draft this year, next year so far, doesnt look like a very good qb class. there may be a few one year wonders pop up, but we all know they usually dont pan out in the NFL. if Ben retires and they dont get their guy in the draft, they will hit the free agent market for a stop gap. maybe a sam darnold, matt stafford, ryan fitzpatrick ,or a matt ryan...they may say they have confidence in Rudolf, but they are lying.

I'd agree with the thinking on Rudolph. I also think that they hit free agency for a stopgap QB. Maybe even someone like Winston. Cowher was able to make guys like Tomczak work. If they can rebuild line/running game, and with a strong D, maybe maintain winning until a franchise QB comes along.
If Ben retires losing his contract should help keep a player or 2 that would have been lost. I'm wondering if maybe they might even could keep Dupree considering he's coming off injury and shouldn't be back until after the season starts. I'm also beginning to wonder if they make much effort on JuJu. This looks to be another situation along the lines of Bell and AB.
Good luck today, guys. Not feeling real good about things but would at least like to come out of the year with the division title regardless of what happens in the postseason. Enjoyed seeing the Dolphins miracle Saturday putting the rats one game away from playoff elimination

. Right on regarding the Ratbirds. One thing I feel for sure - we'll never beat them a 3rd time. They are playing way better than us (not that there are many playoff teams we would beat right now).

Well I have little confidence about the team going in to todays game. Hopefully they will surprise me with some solid execution and a quality game plan.

1st drive: 3 incomplete passes, 1 DJ drop, 2 passes in the dirt, and 1st and 2nd down was the exact same play.
