would the Steelers franchise him? or let him walk? or trade him this off season before the draft to move up in the first round?

I'm pretty sure they will extend TJ. Any draft pick they'd get for him,even a 1st Rd early probably couldn't bring in anyone better. He's just now peaking.

There is a rumor circulating around Pittsburgh that T.J. does not want to resign here. He will go where J.J. goes.

Maybe he doesn't like Butler's defense. Maybe he wants to be used more like a DE where he's not dropping into coverage. Maybe the rumor is false. We will see.

if he is looking to leave , the urge must have hit him recently. it looked to me like TJ in that tweet was lobbying JJ to come to pittsburgh.
if he does have his heart set on leaving, i hope they are smart enough to trade him and get something out of him instead of forcing him to stay for another year.

As long as he plays his ass off for us next year IDGAF if he stays or goes. If he stays he is going to require a ridiculous amount of cash that will hamstring the team in other areas. He is a great player no doubt but the money issues are concerning.

Sign him long-term. Life-long Steeler.

Watt hasn't signed, is staging a mini holdout, and there doesn't appear to be any progress. MM, the only source thus far, says Watt wants 100M guaranteed.

If @_TJWatt wants $100m guaranteed, the Steelers would have to make a lot of exceptions they never have to get a deal done.
