On nfl.com they're saying we have the toughest schedule of all teams and projections are that we're going 7-10 or 8-9 next season.

Honestly I don't put much stock in "strength of schedule" any more. Teams go from worst to first/first to worst from year to year. We really won't know for sure if they're right until midway through IMO. I could be wrong. I don't know exactly how they do this but it seems it isn't fair since the Bucs have what looks to be any easy schedule. Maybe they want Brady to get 10 rings total before he retires at age 65. They want him to be the first QB to be eligible for social security the day he retires from the NFL.

the last quarter of the schedule looks rough could be what makes or breaks the team.

For sure. Unless we go 3-9 up to that point. Then it won't matter.

Might try to attend the game at Lambeau in October. Would like to visit that field.

My friend and I attended a pre-season game at Lambeau years ago. It was a great experience.

I'm happy with a tough Schedule. Steelers seem to step up when they have tough schedules and fall apart when they have easy ones. So, bring 'em on.
And to Solar's point - you never really know who's going to be good or bad from year to year.

I'm just hoping we fall in the good category. There's a few question marks. O-line and DBs are the biggest ? ILB is Bush back healthy? Who's beside him? Spillane? That would be a weak spot unless he improves. Maybe Johnson?

Another big question mark will be the OC, Canada, and what the offense will look like.
I certainly agree with us being underdogs vs the Bills. They were better than us last year. I say bring it on, make us underdogs for all 17.

... for Canada to be successful his offense is going to have to be waaaay different than that crap fichtner put out there. another big thing is willingness to make adjustments when shit aint working. i get sooo aggravated when they keep failing with the same old shit. even if you put the blame on the execution , if players keep failing to execute your plays consistently then stop trying to pound that square peg in to the round hole.find something they can do well and build out from there.

More then likely. The minute things start going south BB will start to drop sound bytes to the media about how he sees things or "thinks" things should go. He won't question his own commitment to a new program or plays or his ability to execute.
He has the Steelers bent over a barrel if they move on from him before he is ready to call it quits they look like the bad guys. If they dont support him calling his own plays based off what he sees from a defense he uses his "veteran QB leadership" role against Canada.
He has been done for a few years in my book. Last season the last 6 games pretty much proved it to many. Some folks are holding on because they are terrified of life after Ben. He isnt leading this team anywhere except to another mediocre season. I am betting they will be lucky to go 8-9 with the schedule they have. Some people will get mad and say I am not a "real" fan but the way I see it I just don't wear rose colored glasses.

I'm afraid you may well be right. I worry about that aspect as well. I personally would love to see what Josh Dobbs could do with this new offense. I think he's best suited for it, athletically and intellectually. But I don't think he will ever get that chance.
You're a real fan and I'm a real fan. And we're allowed to question what is going to happen.

You may be right. The thing is the O-line was a sieve last year and couldn't run block either so there's that. The short passes were all we had and sooooo predictable. As far as the FO looking like the bad guys if they force Ben to leave after this season I refer to Troy's forced departure. That looked pretty harsh at the time. If Ben buys into Canada's offense and the O-line improves so Harris has running room we stand a chance at the playoffs. How do we know that a lot of those last 6 games were the result of Ben's elbow not being fully healed and wearing down? I still think he's the best QB on the roster and whose to say if he doesn't "have it" and one of the others rises up they don't pull Ben? Do you really think any one of the current crop of backups can lead us to a winning season? I'm not mad and I'm not saying you're not a real fan. I just think your doubts are premature. New OC, revamped O-line,new RB and a full year for his elbow to heal could be just what this team needs.

imho the last 6 games was ben calling more plays he likes and he started to zone in on one receiver and his deep throws accuracy is not very good.

There are way too many variables stacked against them at this point.
1. Banner needs to come off the ACL tear and be 100%. 2. Chuks needs to be able to play better at LT then he did at RT AND take on premier DEs and OLBs. 3. DeCastro has to come back 100% healthy and have a much better year. Last year was one of his worst years I have seen. May have been him having to make up for Pounceys atrocious play but he looked pretty bad. 4. The 3rd round and 4th round pick have to be home runs if we dont have a strong Center and the LT doesn't pan out or Chuks is the only option we are toast.

That's just the issues on the OLine!!! Lol
5 new scheme 6 new coaches.
i honestly think they have nowhere to go but up... will it be enough change to make a big difference ? maybe not , but it cant be worse unless ben goes back to holding the ball too long and being sacked 40 times. or they add 2 more teams to the league and they go from 32nd to 34th ...
