remember in the not so distant past tomlin avoided letting boswell try 50 yd FG's ? he is 5 for 5 this year for 50+ ...the previous 3 season he attempted a total of 4.

Hard to believe this, but if Steelers win Sunday they will have 1st place. Rats lose tonight to Dolphins, if Steelers beat Lions both are 6-3 and Steelers will have the better divisional record tiebreaker.
It was awesome and about time to see Rats lose. They needed a 66 yd FG to beat Lions, and Colts kicker missed 2 FGs that would have won the game. They should be 4-5 right now.

Ravens are falling apart. Browns are looking mediocre. Bengals are returning to earth and are middling.
The division is definitely up for grabs.

I just saw that the Dolphins beat the Ravens... Could hardly believe it. It's too bad the Vikings shit the bed last week.
I think the Dolphins and the Vikings have done a lot to expose the Ravens these past two weeks, they've kind of drawn up the blueprint on how to beat them, so I'm expecting everyone is going to be following suit and watching that game film religiously from here on out.
We better put away the Lions because our schedule definitely isn't getting any easier from here on out.

Yeah, that's the thing, they can move into a tiebreaker lead for 1st place this weekend but it gets rough after this game. Maybe they rise to the occasion like they did with the Bills and Browns. Ravens are always tough but I think one of those games is winnable, especially the way they have played this year, as well as 1 each against Browns and Bengals. Those 3 with Detroit would put us at 9 wins with 5 other games to play.

It looks like no Claypool vs Lions but everyone else ready to go....
Chase Claypool ruled out Sunday for Steelers vs. Lions; all others good to go
The bad news for the Steelers this week against the Lions is that they won’t have starting wideout Chase Claypool, who missed practice all week with a toe injury. The good news is that no one else is even listed as questionable for Sunday.
Friday was the only day of practice for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who sat out Thursday with shoulder and pectoral injuries. The team had a light walk-through session Wednesday. But running back Najee Harris and center Kendrick Green popped up on Thursday’s practice report as being limited participants with foot and hamstring injuries, respectively.
Both rookie starters were deemed full participants Friday, though, which should save the Steelers from needing any “next men up” in their place......
In true Steeler fashion they will shit all over themselves against the Lions instead of a win and make the AFC North even more of a mess... lol
It looks like your thinking is in the Steelers' minds too

“This is a game that can be a trap game if you allow it to be,” starting left guard Kevin Dotson said after practice Friday. “So, we play it as we need this game just as bad as any other week.”

l've heard these interviews before then come Sunday what looks to be a sluggish team coming out of the tunnel.

The Steelers elevated receiver Steven Sims from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive roster for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions at Heinz Field.
Sims was signed to the practice squad at the start of the season.
He spent a short time with the Buffalo Bills, before being released on the final roster cut.
He spent two seasons with the Washington Football team pulling in 61 receptions for 575 yards and a total of seven touchdowns. He also added to Washington's special teams, one of his touchdowns coming on a kickoff return.
The Steelers brought Sims up for depth with receiver Chase Claypool ruled out with a toe injury.
Sims will revert back to the practice squad following the game without having to clear waivers.

good to see some like minded people. if i was tomlin i would tell rudolf, if you stink it up against a winless team , you will be cut monday ...if you play a great game..your the new starter ...its time to stop pussy footing around with these bums...show some consistency and be a contributor to winning or

1 hour ago It will be useful to see if Rudolph can win against a badly struggling team. If he can't, the Steelers will need to address their future QB situation sooner rather than later.

53 minutes ago If we are going to lose Ben for a game this is it—and definitely a chance for MR to show what he’s got. Definitely have to win the game either way, though.

1 hour ago finally have a qb that can throw the ball over the middle more than 2 yards, hope mason throws 5 td passes and dead arm never plays again

2 hours ago Mason is the better option anyway.

There is a chance of rain/snow during the game.
