The reason I wouldn't mind if the Steelers moved down in the 1st round if none of the top 3 OT don't drop to 17, for another 3rd round pick seem a few talking heads talking about the talent in the middle rounds of this draft.

I think Khan is going to be more aggressive than Colbert was. I'm not sure he's going to sit and wait, I think he might move up.

I also think he'll be more aggressive but I don't see him reaching for any position. I say that because of the depth of this class.

Yeah, reaching is how we got Artie Burns. But I'm also okay with a trade-up. At certain positions, there is always a drop-off. So if there are 3 top players at a position, and all three are gone by the time you pick, you want to draft elsewhere or trade back. You don't want the 4th best when there are only 3 1st rounders there.

It (free agency) already has a different feel to it. It's too early to tell but I do like the FA signings so far. I'd love to see Peterson play well enough to start at corner but the option to slide him to safety is there too. At the very least we have some depth on the o line. Seamalo could be a steal. Holcomb and Roberts look like they will contribute. What I fear is if he's there they take Jalen Carter. The guy looks like a potential Albert Haynesworth 2.0 I think we'll see at least 1 surprise from our FO during the draft. Maybe a trade up. IMO though the worst case scenario is they trade up for Carter.

I hope they stay pat at 17 and take the BPA at either OT, CB, or DL there should be a top 3 prospect in one of those three areas. If they move back I am cool with that for another 3rd rounder or late 2nd.

If the talent at TE is so deep that a 2nd or starting TE could be drafted in the 4th round I'd be for it. Get one of the 2nd tier Slot WRs in the 3rd if the Steelers are drafting a WR. What if the best WR in the draft falls to the Steelers at 17 do you draft him?

A deep RB class, see if the Steelers want to strenthen the 3rd string RB specials teams room later in the draft don't think it'll much to beat out McFarland.
Besides the draft best player avalable philosophy in the early rounds having the draft picks to pick quality players from the deep positions in the later rounds of the draft.

Steelers add former Falcons QB coach Glenn Thomas as offensive assistant https://triblive.com/sports/steelers-add-former-falcons-qb-coach-glenn-thomas-as-offensive-assistant/
In the NFL, Thomas was the quarterbacks coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2012-14 and worked extensively with Matt Ryan. He also spent four years as an offensive assistant with the Falcons before being promoted.
With Thomas as his coach, Ryan led the NFL with a 68.6 completion percentage in 2012, and he made two of his four career Pro Bowl appearances in that three-year span.
Thomas left the Falcons when Mike Smith was fired as head coach and replaced by Dan Quinn.
If I remember right the Falcons running game offense was a inside zone, when the Falcons had a decemt offensive live in front of Matt Ryan he was a drop back hit the mark the ball came out good, I see that in Kenny Pickett it'll be good to see what the o-line invest does for Pickett's develoment this season and the time he has to see the field before he has to bail. Looks to me with the extra salary cap money "no more Big Ben salary cap hit" new offensive coach the Steelers are trying the best to help Picket succeed in the NFL.

Watts, 26, The 6-foot-5, 307-pound Watts was the sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft. He had a career-high five sacks in 2021 but was cut in training camp last year and claimed by the Bears. In Chicago, Watts started 12 games and appeared in all 17 while playing 49% of all defensive snaps. He totaled 35 tackles, including four for a loss, and one sack.
Don't know much about him if he can help stop the run that'll help a lot.

Bobby Boucher 6'2" 230 lbs. ILB, South-Central Louisiana State University
Imho he'd be a great undrafted free agent pick up, good speed, a down hill run stuffer - blitzer, team player and has been to Disney World with his Mama. Don't think he'll get drafted because he's not very book smart but has a high football IQ and freakish athleticism

"NFL Network reported the one-year contract is worth up to $5 million" bet the Steelers were looking at $2.5 million year range plus Dupree imho has a better chance seeing more playing time with the Falcons.
Good Luck Bud

Tanner Muse Robert Spillane replacement?
Gearing up for the draft adding players for OTAs training camp, on paper team looks stronger would like to see some good competitions for starting jobs.

NFL Draft primer: Texas running back trying to bring first-round value back to position https://triblive.com/sports/nfl-draft-primer-texas-running-back-trying-to-bring-first-round-value-back-to-position/
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Najee Harris with the No. 24 pick in 2021,
After getting their running back in Harris in 2021, the Steelers found his backup last year after the draft when they signed Jaylen Warren. It’s telling how content the Steelers are at the position that they have yet to bring in a running back for a top-30 visit.
I'm betting the Steelers are on the lookout for RBs who are about 5'8" 215 lbs quick to top speed, Jaylen Warren was a really good find.

Great trade for Robinson if he stays healthy he is a steal and makes the offense all that much more deadly if Canada uses him right. Lots of upside little down side.
Just saw they reworked his contract and he is only hitting for 1.6 million on the cap this year the rest was a signing bonus. Khan is doing some crazy shit with his cap space. If Robinson stays healthy and contributes this deal will be one of his best to date. Canada better be doing some serious scheming in the play book that offense is loaded with talent now and there is zero excuses for not putting up points.

What do you guys think of the Allen Robinson signing? If he can return to form I think it's a great pickup and really allows us to focus on more glaring needs in the draft.
I see a couple posts ahead of me mentioned this now, somehow I missed that lol.

Steelers have been very aggressive in the offseason. Loving the Markus Golden signing. Much needed depth behind Highsmith/Watt. This also allows Herbig to develop as well. We've got an arsenal of pass rushers now. I personally think our secondary got better as well. Drafting Peezy Jr gives us much needed height and length at the QB position. Not to mention Peezy and Peterson should be able to lock down guys in man coverage, something our secondary has been lacking at times. Kazee and Neal can't be any worse than Edmunds, in fact I feel like they're an upgrade. Edmunds was just a run-of-the-mill very pedestrian type of player. I think the combo of Kazee/Neal will not only offer more physicality, I think it'll offer up more splash plays from the safety position.
I am hoping that with guys like Demarvin Leal coming along and Keeanu Becton being drafted that we'll be better against the run as well. If we can be tougher against the run this season it'll really help this team out overall. I think our inability to stop the run the past few seasons has really burnt us defensively. If we can bottle up the run game and force opponents to have to try and throw with our pass rush in their face, I think we'll have opposing teams right where we want them and it'll lead to more turnovers and more opportunities offensively.
I mean I think I've probably been guilty of being too optimistic about this team the past few seasons, but I feel like we're finally in a better place now.
