Domain Expired

Sorry guys but it looks like the domain expired. Just throwing this out there, please let others know that you can still access the forum by going to www.steelersxtreme.forumotion.com

I don't know if you have access to e-mailaddresses of SteelerFreak58, effyou515, Great Randino, solardave, Shalieve5090 and Steeler-in-west as they are the ones who have been posting this year. Maybe you can reach out to them that way?

Hey, Guys. Sorry I've been away and allowed this issue to arise. Been dealing with a lot of work/life stuff for quite a while, and being distracted, I totally forgot to renew the domain name.

Long story short, I originally purchased the name through Forumotion and renewed it every year with a click of a button in the Admin panel. I never dealt durectly with godaddy.

Right now, godaddy has the domain name parked, and I'm not sure how to get it back short of buying it directly from there for a much larger chunk of money than I'm willing to spend.

For now, we can use the original forumotion address. If I can't get the domain back cheaply, maybe we'll rebrand or something. Not sure yet. Still trying to figure all this out, which I'll do when I'm done kicking myself in the ass for allowing it to happen.

Anyway, I'm glad to see some of you have found your way back.

If we can't get the original domain back, we have 3 options ...

1. Stick with what it is now (my least favorite option).
2. Change it to something like steelersxtreme.net. I want steelersxtreme.gov, just because.
3. Or change the name completely and stick with .com.

The first option is the cheapest and easiest, but I'm not a fan of the longer name.

The second option will require a small fee and allow us to keep the name, but I'd prefer a .com domain.

Option 3 would require a fee and we'd have to rebrand, but we could get a .com domain.

Any change won't affect new members. Where it hurts is searches. If we can't get the old domain back, any option we choose puts us back to square one.

At this point, I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Option 2 or 3 then I guess, but the most important thing is to send a newsletter or mail to every registered member with the new name so everyone here can make the switch.

Hey guys. I only found this because I was getting messages on my PC when a member logged in. I couldn't figure out why or how I was getting those messages. Finally did a search and found the Facebook page and the link to the forum. I don't have Facebook so got lucky I guess.

Been too long since I've visited and checked in on everyone. Kids growing up and keeping me too busy to read I suppose. I hope everyone has been doing well and I am going to make an effort to check in more often!
