6-2 going into the bye week I'll it. Real test comes after the bye with all our division games

#2 record in the AFC, #3 in all of the NFL (Lions have only played 6 games), I'll take THAT. Yes, the meat of the schedule is still coming up. But these games - the Giants, Pats**, Jets, Raiders - those are games we have lost in the past. So, I'm happy. Cautiously happy. But happy.
Hats off to Mike Tomlin - not many coaches would have the nerve to bench a QB that was 4-2. I myself thought it wasn't going to work. But so far - and there's a long way to go - so far, it was a genius move.
Playing to give us the best shot at a Super Bowl, not just trying to "keep the winning streak alive".

i watched the highlight video multiple times and one thing that jumped out was the horrible tackling by the steelers D. these young scholars have no concept of angles what so ever. they cant seem to anticipate where the ball carrier would be with the angle of pursuit they choose. they are like retarded skeet shooters who shoot directly at the clay instead of leading it. then on top of that they often focus way more on stripping the ball than wrapping both arms to make the tackle. i learned when i was 6 years old that the easiest way to stop someone forward momentum is to wrap my arms around both of their legs and do a gator roll . these clowns routinely go for the upper body tackle. you have one guy being drug by the ball carrier and 2 guys trying to rip the ball away instead of stopping the forward momentum. so what should have been a 4yd gain turns in to 10. this is the result of pussy no contact practices and shitty coaching. it is to the point where when reading reports on prospects they feel the need to tell you when a player is a good tackler...WTF They are fuckin defensive players!!!... defensive players SHOULD BE GOOD TACKLERS !!! shouldnt that be a damn requirement ???
this isnt just a steeler problem, it is an NFL problem and a college problem.

It is evident that all they want to do is make the highlight reel blowing someone up. Just make the damn tackle. Here's a concept. Find the man with the ball and WRAP him up. Tracy averaged 7.25 YPC and Singletary 5.5. Only the Ravens, Vikings and Chiefs are giving up less YPG on the ground than us.
But I don't think any team has been worse against teams with a losing record than us in the past 18 years.
The defense is a BIG concern right now. Like you guys pointed out, the tackling was sub-par at best.
There's really no excuse for it.
The Steelers run one of the toughest practices in the NFL - it's been said they work harder on Friday - and more physical - than about anyone. Regardless of that, the D has gotten run on way too much.
Tyrone Tracy is a good back. He earned my respect. But for runners to constantly put up their best game against your team - you know there's a problem.
I don't know what the answer is to fixing it - you'd think these professional defensive players would be better at tackling. And I know it's not just the Steelers.
But early on, it appeared our defense would carry us. Now it seems like it's the offense carrying us.
Imagine if both sides ever put it together at the same time.
On another note: I can't tell you how happy I am that Calvin is finally getting some love. I've been talking him up for so long now, was wondering if they would ever find a way to work him into the offense. (its nice being right now and then )
It's amazing to think that a week ago people were proposing to trade him for Cooper Kupp (aging over the hill often injured receiver with a huge cap hit the next few years).
How ridiculous does THAT trade sound?
Sometimes the best trades are the ones you Don't make.

The defense is just predictable. Austin isn't doing much to disguise anything. They are coming out with a Vanilla 3-4 and they aren't tricking anyone a majority of the time.
TJ lines up wide and that C gap is pretty big to run through the ILBs are getting washed and aren't filling gaps a lot of the times.
Ogunjobie shows up 25% of the time. A lot for the time he is invisible.
Minkha is playing Single high center field and not really inserting himself into being a game changer. What was he do8ng before when he was intercepting balls left and right? What are we asking him to do differently now?
Just some observations. I could be wrong.
I think it really is on Austin and game planning he isn't fooling anyone.

Steelers vs. Giants: What they're saying in New York after loss
It seems like Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver George Pickens have something special brewing, said NFL writer Nick Shook. The pair connected four times for 74 yards, including two touchdowns that were wiped out by a penalty and replay review.
“It’s clear Wilson loves to look toward Pickens’ way (especially downfield), and he’s unlocked the Steelers’ most talented weapon, bringing a new threat to an offense that needed one,”

Broderick Jones is too talented to play like he just doesn’t give a fuck and hates football! — Duke Manyweather (@BigDuke50) October 29, 2024
this is my thoughts as well. when i focus on just him, i see a guy giving minimum effort.

Chances are, the Steelers do not make a change at right tackle and bench Jones. They continue to view the former first-round pick as their future, but likely see that future at left tackle. His struggles on the right side could be because he's playing the opposite side he did in college, but for now, that's the team's only option.
well that doesnt explain why he played so much better last year. he may be better on the left side, but has already shown he is capable of playing better on the right. if he were playing exactly at the level he played at last year, people wouldn't be putting him on blast. right now he is playing just as bad as chuks was before he replaced him.

"I like the solid trajectory of his growth and development," head coach Mike Tomlin said this past week about Jones's play. "He has some challenges early on in team development. He missed some time and so forth due to minor injuries. But just largely looking at the trajectory of his play, I'm pleased with it. I like the professional approach that he brings to work, and I just think it's moving in the right direction, and it needs to continue."
so what happened to the standard tomlin ? he hasnt improved since you benched him for playing like shit. why is he blowing smoke up our asses ? tomlin must have taken the democrat gaslighting course. dont believe your lying eyes, just believe what im telling you.
