Steelers hosting Demetrius Bell

Earlier this week, Silva listed Bills tackle Demetrius Bell as one of the top remaining free agents. The Steelers, who haven’t done much (or, more accurately, anything) in free agency, may have taken notice.

Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Steelers are hosting Bell on Friday.

I figured Bell would make his way to Pittsburgh one of Kugler's guys.

Is he any good? I know nothing about him.

The 6-5, 311-pounder has drawn interest from a handful of teams, including the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. The Philadelphia Eagles may make a push to sign Bell with Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters out indefinitely. Peters ruptured his Achilles tendon, and the Eagles, according to multiple reports, will host Bell for a visit this weekend.

Bell, 27, has started parts of the past two seasons for the Bills, but he only played in seven games in 2011 because of a knee injury. Bell is entering the prime of his career, and the fourth-year veteran has played well enough when healthy to make him one of the top free agent tackles.

This is all I know about him.

Sounds like a potentially solid pick-up for us if we can pull it off. With our o-line, it certainly can't hurt to try some different guys with some experience. At worst he should be able to take a back-up job from one of our guys like J. Scott.

the only problem i see with him is that he's missed a lot of games due to injury
