The Pittsburgh Steelers may need some help in the secondary, but what could be more important is to add some help on the offensive line. Since Mike Pouncey will be off the board by the time the Steelers draft a player, who will they select?
One player that's starting to grow on me is Baylor's Danny Watkins. The biggest issue about this guard is arguably his age; at 27 he does not have the same number of years left as other draftees do. However, the Steelers are ready to win now, so he fits well.
Todd McShay agrees with the selection of Watkins, saying of him, "Watkins is solid in pass protection and as a run blocker and brings a nasty disposition to the table. He would be a nice fit next to 2010 first-rounder and Pro Bowler Maurkice Pouncey."
While I would prefer that the Steelers address their secondary first here, as the depth as cornerback falls off greatly after the first five players, Watkins would be a great guy in the middle alongside Pouncey and would have no trouble protecting Ben Roethlisberger.
He also has a great work ethic and is very physical inside, which is exactly what the Steelers look for in the draft.
