The Steelers will be without one of their top defensive backs for Monday's AFC North game against Cincinnati as they ruled out cornerback Cortez Allen on Saturday.
Allen injured his ankle during last week's opener against Tennessee and did not practice all week.
Allen will be replaced by veteran William Gay at corner and rookie Shamarko Thomas when the Steelers go into their nickel package.
The Steelers also ruled out tight end Heath Miller and running back Le'Veon Bell and listed cornerback Curtis Brown (illness) as doubtful.
The Steelers will also have two new starters — center Fernando Velasco and rookie first-round pick linebacker Jarvis Jones — against the Bengals.

| After the Panthers game, I said I was stoked because we got through camp and preseason without any injuries (other than Bell, which I assumed would be for only one game).
