yes, but Ventrone injured his hamstring in last night's game and probably was going to be out awhile anyway...

Yes, but is a healthy Archer of any more use than an injured Ventrone on the sideline? Close call.

Hey now, Archer is a badass at watching kicks go over his head and getting tackled behind the line.

In one way he does but in other ways he doesn't. How can he make plays if he never has the ball. KO's don't count in today's NFL. Almost impossible to return a kick when most are kicked out of the end zone. If they drafted him for a purpose, give him a chance. If it's only to be a KO returner......... CUT HIM!

Who sits to give him plays? No RB or WR on our roster should.
He couldn't even win the punt returner job to give AB a break and possibly provide splash plays on his own.
As mentioned, kick returns are a thing of the past.....no value there.
I'm amazed he's been around so long for showing so little.

Archer still hasn't shown much in the return game. The one thing I liked about this last game is that he really looked aggressive, particularly late in the game, trying to make a play. He knew that the team was struggling offensively, and he really came flying out of the end zone and got a decent return out of it. That's what he needs to do every time. Show fire and effort, look for an opening, and hit it full speed ready to run through contact. Play with intensity and toughness, and run with the mindset that every kick return may decide the game. Not take every return to the sideline, and step out of bounds before contact.

We haven't seen nearly enough of that from him.
